TwinReysons Barn is perfect for couples and families who are looking for a rural escape in East Sussex. Converted in 2009, this lovely thatched barn sits on the edge of a small orchard in the village of Broad Oak Brede and is just five miles from the Cinque Port town of Rye and only a few miles from Bodiam Castle.
As you step inside, you are greeted with a wonderful open plan living area where the whole family can enjoy quality time together, whilst cooking meals, playing games, watching television or planning those Sussex adventures - this lovely county is just waiting to be explored.
The accommodation is all on the ground floor and boasts two comfortable bedrooms, a double and twin bedroom, and a bathroom having a bath with fitted shower.
The stable-door from the open plan living area leads to a delightful cottage garden where there is seating and an outside terrace, perfect for a barbecue or al fresco dining. Relax with a book or take a wander around the garden and orchard and enjoy watching the ducks, chickens and geese who live around the pond. Sometimes the surrounding fields are also visited by deer and many other wildlife.
The owners who live at the neighbouring cottage are there if you need anything. Please note they have three large friendly dogs who can sometimes be seen wandering around their grounds and in the nearby paddock.
A car is essential whilst staying here because of its rural location. The village has a pub, bakers, convenience store and local brewery. You will find a plethora of footpaths. You can walk amongst open countryside around Brede, Brede High Woods, Tillingham Valley or the marshes to Camber Castle.
The B2089 takes you to Rye, where there is a railway station with services to Eastbourne and Ashford International which has a high-speed connection to London St Pancras serving Paris, Amsterdam and Brussels via the Eurostar.
Rye is a lovely historical town with its cobbled streets, array of shops including antique shops, pubs, restaurants, and art galleries. It is also home to the annual Rye Jazz Festival, Rye Arts Festival and The Rye Bay Scallop Festival.
Sussex is blessed with so many places to visit. There are vineyards, gardens and numerous National Trust properties. Take a visit to Great Dixter House and Gardens, Bewl Water, Bedgebury Forest, Camber Castle, Rye Castle Museum, Sissinghurst Castle Garden, Bodiam River Boats, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Rudyard Kipling's House Batemans, Dungeness, Battle Abbey, Smallhythe Place, Bodiam Castle or the Kent and Sussex Railway. Or if you fancy a day at the coast, then there is always Camber with its golden beach and sand dunes or perhaps Winchelsea Beach, Hastings, Eastbourne or Pevensey Bay.
