Bedroom 1
DoubleCharmingly crafted, comfortably furnished and with panoramic views over the valley, Alpaca Hideaway is a dreamy escape from everyday life. Completely private, your only neighbours will be the fluffy alpacas who share the meadow. These gentle animals are known for their soft fleece and relaxed temperament. They won't bother you during your stay, but if you'd like to get to know them better the owners will happily introduce you.
Step inside Alpaca Hideaway and you'll find the shepherd's hut is self-contained with WiFi, mains electricity and instant hot water. At one end you have the bedroom, furnished with a beautiful iron bedstead, a DAB digital radio and a selection of books and games. Perfect for slow mornings spent under the covers as the sun sneaks over the horizon.
At the other end, through a sliding door you'll find your en suite shower-room, complete with toilet, sink and shower. In between, is a stylish kitchen equipped with an electric hob, cooking utensils and a small fridge/freezer. Here you have all you need to cook up a romantic meal for two.
Next to the kitchen is a restful lounge area with a characterful wood-burner that keeps the space toasty throughout the year. Two plush armchairs sit either side, ideally positioned for a cosy fireside read with a view out over the fields.
Outside there is a generous decking area, adorned with al fresco dining furniture as well as a wood-fired hot tub. As the sun sinks below the hills you can sip a glass of bubbles and blissfully soak your cares away, watching as the stars appear.
Want to venture further afield? There are many local walks, country pubs and picturesque villages to be explored. Nearby you also have Buckland Abbey, The Garden House and the ancient market town of Tavistock. The area also boasts a number of heritage sites including the National Trust's Knightshayes, Killerton and Castle Drogo.
The city of Exeter is just a short drive away. Here you can peruse its many shops, eateries and cultural sites such as Exeter Cathedral, the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Northcott Theatre. If you're keen to explore the great outdoors then head over to Dartmoor National Park. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it's renowned for excellent walks and stunning views. So pack up a picnic and bring your camera, it's going to be a day you don't want to forget.
