Situated in the vibrant heart of the much sought-after Roseland village of St Mawes, Wiggy's Cottage is a traditional Cornish cottage with oodles of character and perfectly positioned for a family holiday or a romantic getaway where even the dog is welcome. St Mawes has everything you need virtually on the doorstep, with gorgeous beaches, eclectic shops, a great selection of cafes and restaurants, and the bustling maritime town of Falmouth just a short passenger ferry ride away. Indeed, if a car-free holiday is what you are looking for then this could be just the ticket!

Wiggy's Cottage has the added luxury of a private parking space and can be found tucked away in a row of similar traditional cottages up a short, steep hill from the centre of the village. Walking down into the village will take a few minutes, it may take a touch longer going back uphill! The ground floor is home to a cosy sitting-room with warming wood-burner and a Smart TV, ideal for movie nights after a busy day of exploring. There's a separate dining-room leading off the kitchen and here you will find all the equipment you will need including the all-important dishwasher, so no squabbling over the washing up here and a thoughtful extra touch of a Nespresso machine in the kitchen (do remember a supply of your favourite pods!). You will also find a swish shower-room on this floor, ideal for rinsing salty toes.

The first floor is home to three pretty bedrooms. Bedroom one has a comfy king-size bed for a restful night's sleep, bedroom two is a charming single room, ideal for either a child or adult, and bedroom three has a cosy double bed, although guests may wish to note that this bed can only be accessed from one side. The family bathroom with bath completes the first floor accommodation.

Wiggy's Cottage has a rear terrace outside the kitchen door and down a set of steps (please take care here) you will find a further enclosed patio area with a table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining. St Mawes is a great place for a getaway and this characterful abode is ideally placed for your Cornish getaway.

The Roseland peninsula is a magical place for a holiday and St Mawes encapsulates the very best of the area, with stunning scenery, gorgeous beaches and a vibrant harbour just waiting to be explored. Walkers will love the easy access onto the coast path where days can be spend discovering hidden coves, sandy beaches and charming villages. Water sports lovers should head for the sheltered waters of the harbour, perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking when the weather allows. Foodies will enjoy the great choice of places to dine, from the freshest fish and chips out of the paper on the sea wall to fine dining in several fabulous establishments.

Climb the hill out of the village to St Mawes Castle, built to protect against invasion in the 15th Century, this majestic fort is beautifully preserved and affords the most stunning views over the Carrick Roads. A short drive away the charming village of Portscatho awaits with a pretty harbour and gorgeous beaches. Sit on the seafront and enjoy freshly brewed coffee and pastries from Tide and Thyme, the perfect holiday pastime or perhaps wander along the coast path to The Hidden Hut where guests sit side by side on wooden benches and enjoy the freshest of Cornish produce.

For a change of scene, take the seasonal passenger ferry over the waters to the maritime town of Falmouth, steeped in history and with a great range of eclectic shops, cafes and restaurants. Ferries also run to the lesser-known places such as Flushing and Place, hidden gems worth exploring. Further afield the mighty biomes of the Eden Project make for an interesting day out or perhaps The Lost Gardens of Heligan, lost in time during WWI, discovered and restored thirty years ago and now the most beautiful place to visit. However you plan to spend your blissful holiday days, Wiggy's Cottage is the perfect base for all your Cornish adventures.
