TwinTreat yourself to a well-deserved break that promises to be full of coastal delights, mythical legend and truly spectacular scenery at Smugglers Cottage. Set in the little hamlet of Tregatta, just off the road that leads into Tintagel, a village steeped in Arthurian legend, this delightful semi-detached cottage is the ideal base for those wanting to make the most of this lively coastal village and this dramatic part of north Cornwall.
Designed for four but equally perfect as a retreat for two, Smugglers Cottage offers homely and comfortable holiday accommodation, immaculately presented and decorated throughout.
Cook up those holiday meals in the kitchen/dining-room, a truly welcoming room, full of character with its exposed beams, granite lintel and exposed stonework. The sitting-room invites you to unwind and relax after a thrilling day exploring the delights of north Cornwall and that toasty wood-burner will be a welcome sight on those out-of-season breaks. The sunny terrace is the ideal spot to enjoy morning coffee or a leisurely supper and when it's time for the bed, the two cottage bedrooms ensure you the best of nights with their super comfy beds adorned with charming playful linens.
Only a 10-minute walk is the historic village of Tintagel and all that it has to offer, including the ruins of Tintagel Castle, linked to the legend of King Arthur, Merlin's Cave, the Old Post Office (National Trust), plus a host of restaurants, pubs, takeaways and independent shops.
For further holiday pleasures grab those walking boots and blow away the cobwebs by following the country lane that leads directly from the cottage to the coastal path taking in panoramic seascapes along the way. Your four legged friends will love it.
If beach days are on the agenda, Trebarwith Strand is only a mile away and if you want to learn how to ride the waves join the surf school at Polzeath.
Pop over to beautiful Boscastle with its deep valley, tiny harbour and quaint cottages not forgetting to refuel at the fabulous farm shop and restaurant whilst you're there, the view alone is worth it! And a day at picturesque Port Isaac, home of Doc Martin, The Fisherman's Friends and celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw is a must.
For more culinary delights take a trip to Padstow, in fact why not ditch the car and take the foot ferry across from trendy Rock or hire bikes in Wadebridge and cycle to Padstow along the Camel Trail.
