DoubleThe Potting Shed is a cute and quirky retreat tucked away in the tranquil, unspoilt countryside in Staffordshire, and is just the place if you're looking for a romantic getaway somewhere rather special.
Step inside to discover your oh so lovely hideaway, with sweet and rustic interiors sure to charm you. The open plan living space has a cosy and inviting seating area to sink into after a day of exploring. Light the wood-burner, pour a glass of your favourite tipple and relax. The hand-crafted kitchen-area is well-equipped, with everything you might need for rustling up simple holiday meals, and you can perch at the cute dining-table to play a board game or get lost in a good book. Climb up the wooden steps to find the cosy raised double bed (please take care and mind your head), a delightful place to rest at the end of the day. There's also a beautifully presented and spacious shower-room.
The outside area is quite the treat. Here you'll find a heavenly outdoor bathtub, ideal for a long and luxurious soak as the sun goes down. The lovely, secluded seating area is perfect for breakfast al fresco, and you'll also find a chiminea-style barbecue (the owner very kindly provides charcoal) here where you can prepare supper. You're welcome to help yourself to salad, vegetables, herbs and fruit from the vegetable patch on site, and eggs are provided by the hens who also live on site. Your surroundings are truly magical, and you're sure to enjoy leisurely, sun-drenched picnics on the lawn, gazing out across the wonderful countryside.
Part of Copper Beech Glamping, The Potting Shed is nestled on a wonderful site with The Woodsman (5110) and Shepherd's View (5111), and each retreat has plenty of privacy.
The owners of The Potting Shed have put in place a number of wonderful sustainable features, including a wildflower meadow with over 300 native plants, bird feeders and a dedicated wildlife area, which includes a large insect hotel, hedgehog house and a bee feeding station.
Logs for the wood-burner are generously supplied by the owner, as well as charcoal for your barbecue.
If you're looking to delve into more of the great outdoors, your location couldn't be better. Pack up a picnic and head to Loynton Moss Nature Reserve or Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, both havens for wildlife and offering delightful days out. Trentham Gardens is also well worth visiting, with 725 acres of gorgeous scenery to explore, alongside an outdoor shopping village ideal for picking up a few treats.
You can easily spend a day in Eccleshall, a nearby thriving village with a fantastic selection of eateries and independent boutiques, and literary and history-lovers will enjoy the welcoming and characterful town of Stafford, with its fascinating heritage and plenty to see and do. There are lots of adventures to discover from The Potting Shed, but if you prefer to simply spend a few days unwinding in your romantic haven - well, we couldn't blame you.
