Portscatho is a much sought-after charming seaside village on the Roseland peninsula and Janes Field is perfectly situated on a quiet lane, just moments away from stunning beaches and the vibrant harbourside. This delightful abode has two outside sitting areas where sun lovers can make the most of the Cornish rays, and a delightful interior, furnished with comfort and relaxation in mind. Janes Field is an ideal retreat for a family or friends looking for a Cornish getaway.

Just up from the centre of the village, Janes Field is found up a short, steep hill where a wooden gate leads to the small deck area and front door. All on one level, Janes Field has fabulous views over the rooftops towards Gerrans Bay and beyond from both the kitchen and the sitting/dining-room. The separate kitchen is well-equipped and has all you need to cook a holiday meal, if you can tear yourself away from the view of course, and there's a breakfast-bar where guests can perch and chat with the chef. The sitting/dining-room is fabulous, with comfy sofas and patio doors leading out onto the dreamy balcony where you can sit and take in the sea views from dawn until dusk. A wood-burner will keep you cosy throughout the year and the dining-table sits conveniently at the back of the room, ideal for a board game or family dinner.

The bedrooms are cosy, bedroom one has a king-size bed and handy en suite shower-room and bedroom two has twin beds, ideal for either adults or children. An additional family bathroom is the perfect place for a long soak after a busy beach day.

Outside, you can choose to sit in the Cornish sunshine with your morning coffee on the balcony or in the evening relax on the decked area with an aperitif watching the sun set. Underneath Janes Field the garage is home to the washing machine, tumble-drier and recycling facilities and this convenient space is also available to you if you need storage for kayaks and paddle boards and any other beach paraphernalia. Parking for one car is available on the drive, please note the parking area is on a slight slope.

Whether you are looking for a family holiday home with the beach close by or a base for discovering the best of Cornwall, Janes Field has all you need for a great holiday.

The Roseland peninsula is a fabulous place for a holiday and Portscatho is the very essence of Cornish living. There are several stunning beaches to choose from and a pretty harbour where you can sit and watch the boats bob with the ebb and flow of the tide or the children (and adults) enjoying the sheltered waters. Head to Tatams for excellent freshly brewed coffee and pastries and a seat overlooking the bay, or try Tavola an Italian bar and takeaway, so that's breakfast, lunch and dinner sorted!

Walkers will love the area and the coast path can be hiked in either direction giving the most breathtaking views throughout the year. Head towards Porthcurnick beach and you will find The Hidden Hut where guests sit side by side on wooden benches and enjoy the freshest of local produce. Another local place to discover is St Just in Roseland where there's a secluded cove with a beautiful church and gardens. Whilst you are there try Miss V's, the Cornish cream teas are legendary (jam first of course!).

St Mawes is a vibrant village just a short drive away, with a great selection of places to dine from fish and chips from the paper on the harbour wall to fine dining and everything in-between. Kayakers and paddle boarders should head here to explore the sheltered harbour, stunning coves and inlets. Climb the hill to St Mawes Castle, a coastal artillery fort with stunning views over the bay, or perhaps take the seasonal passenger ferry to the eclectic maritime town of Falmouth where there is plenty to see and do.

Further afield the mighty domes of the Eden Project make an interesting day out for all the family or maybe try The Lost Gardens of Heligan, left to ruin since WWI and discovered over 30 years ago when a restoration project commenced. Now returned to their former glory these gardens are well worth a visit.

Portscatho is a wonderful place for a holiday and Janes Field is a great base for all your Cornish adventures.
