Enjoy an unforgettable holiday with your loved ones at Trafalgar Barton, a majestic country house that sleeps 12 and overlooks the gorgeous rolling hills and gentle coastline that make Devon so special. This magnificent getaway has a real sense of glamour about it yet retains a welcoming, homely quality ensuring a comfortable stay for all your friends and family.

Step through the fabulous front door and be greeted by the grand entrance hall with its polished wooden floor and breathtaking staircase. The sense of grandeur is continued in the main sitting-room; a wonderfully bright and airy space lit by crisp natural light flooding in through the fantastic large windows which offer spectacular views across the surrounding countryside. The house faces south, meaning you can enjoy the sun in this room all day long. Settle down in the evenings on the inviting L-shaped sofa and enjoy the warm glow of the wood-burning stove with a glass of something special.

Open the fabulous double doors and enter the dining-room. A beautifully finished wooden dining-table sits proudly in the middle of the room, perfect for hosting cherished meals with your loved ones. A glorious chandelier perches above the table, soaking the room in a welcoming warm hue. Next door you will find the superb kitchen complete with its own Aga range. Enjoy preparing meals in this spacious room which is great for late-night socialising with a drink in your hand. A smaller dining-table is tucked into the corner of the space, perfect for those late brunches in the warm morning sun.

Further down the corridor, you will find a second sitting-room. There is a beautifully cosy feel to this room with the stunning granite fireplace taking centre stage. A wonderful Smart TV sits above the fireplace providing entertainment for those relaxing nights in. If you are looking forward to a bit of privacy with your favourite book, the charming, airy snug is just for you. Spend hours basking in the relaxing ambience of this gorgeous space.

Venture up the opulent staircase to discover the many bedrooms of Trafalgar Barton. Relax in the indulgent free-standing bath sat snugly in bedroom two's en suite or take a moment on the comfortable sofa in bedroom three. Bedroom four is brilliant for little ones with its twin beds while bedroom five is truly magnificent with its super-king double bed and wonderful sea views. Whichever bedroom you choose, you'll be guaranteed a brilliant night's sleep. A handy shower-room can also be found on the first floor which is great for guests that don't have an en suite to unwind in after a busy day. Travel further upstairs and embrace your competitive side in Trafalgar Barton's games-room complete with a table-tennis table, TV, plenty of board games and even some sea views.

Once you've explored Trafalgar Barton's interior, venture outside and wander around the site's beautiful and tranquil outside space. Enjoy breathtaking views across the valley and out to sea on the patio area which also acts as a great sun-trap. The fabulous barbecue makes al fresco dining easy while the padded outdoor dining area is perfect for a spot of stargazing with a delicious meal. Soak up the Devon sunshine on the chic sunbeds that offer yet more specular views across the valley. Further down the garden, there is plenty of lawn space to enjoy as well as an intimate and comfortable day bed.

This tranquil location is in the east Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has fabulous walks straight from your doorstep. Try the National Trust's walking trail that takes you around this historic village, or a 15 minute walk to the beach.

The village has the added bonus of two excellent pubs, one either end of the village, including the award-winning Masons Arms. The nearby shingle beach has a private car park, an exercise-area that welcomes dogs and the Sea Shanty beach cafe serving delicious seafood.

Just along the coast, the pretty fishing village of Beer is surrounded by limestone cliffs, the wet fish shop on the beach is a great place to pick up the catch of the day during the summer months, and water sports and boat trips are available from the shingle beach. Visit Seaton Jurassic, which offers the opportunity to see what the world was like 200 million years ago, with lots of fun activities for children.

Seaton also has a delightful tram that travels inland beside the River Axe estuary, passing through two nature reserves with a wide range of wading birds, all the way to the end of the line in historic Colyton. Further east, just over the border into Dorset 20 minutes away by car, is the bustling town of Lyme Regis, with its fossil history, famous Monmouth Beach, quirky shops and safe sandy beach.

Surrounded by green countryside that borders the coast, there is no shortage of farm shops for delicious holiday treats, locally-reared meat for the barbecue and Devon grown produce. Along the coast to the west are beautiful Budleigh Salterton and regency Sidmouth.

Exmouth is further west still, where you can pick up the Exe Estuary Trail - 26 miles of gentle cycling from Exmouth to Dawlish, close to the water's edge, almost free from traffic and with a boat trip along the way if your legs need a rest. The ancient city of Exeter is well worth a visit with its magnificent cathedral and vibrant quayside.
