Bunk-bedsSet in the grounds of an old orchard and located near the mouth of the Helford River is the delightful Bramley Cottage. Found in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (now known as National Landscapes) and on the edge of the pretty village of Mawnan Smith this really is a picturesque location.
The sloped deck leads up to the raised decked area and your front door, step up through the threshold to your wonderful holiday home. The open plan living space is the perfect spot to spend some time together; the kitchen and dining areas have everything you might need for a tasty home-cooked meal made with local produce while you catch up with one another.
Cosy up together in front of a good film and warm your toes in front of the electric wood-burner or perhaps on a summer's eve leave the door open and listen to the evening chorus.
The main bedroom is decorated with calming tones and looks out over the fields, which is such a relaxing view. The second bedroom has bunk-beds which are only suitable for children. The well-appointed luxury family bathroom has a large bath and separate shower to soak your weary limbs and salt kissed hair.
There is plenty of outside space at Bramley Cottage; the raised decked area is a delightful spot to sit back and appreciate the surroundings with a refreshing drink. There is a children's play area with a swing set shared by Orchard Cottage (4883), the neighbouring cottage, or perhaps plan a teddy bears picnic in the field which you also have use of.
If you like walking, there are many footpaths to explore from your front door. The sandy beach of Maenporth can be reached by a footpath through pretty fields and ancient woodland, where there is a beach cafe and Cove Restaurant & Bar run by Michael Caines. The South West Coast Path is within easy reach and you can find hidden coves and tranquil inlets on your adventures. The sub-tropical gardens of Glendurgan and Trebah are within a five minute drive and are simply stunning.
The nearby maritime town of Falmouth is worth a visit, with a range of independent boutique shops and restaurants and the National Maritime Museum. Why not catch the ferry from Helford Passage to Helford Village and explore the picturesque south Helford. If you fancy an adventure on the sea there are a number of boat trips on offer from Prince of Wales Pier in Falmouth.
