KingWelcome to Cara Cottage, a stunning detached property located in the heart of Bembridge village. This eye-catching holiday home with soft pink 'Spanish inspired' exterior is beautifully furnished and styled with splashes of colour. With a large garden and patio to the rear of the house, and positioned just yards from the local beach and village shops, Cara Cottage makes a superb holiday escape for families or groups of friends.
Step inside the grand entrance hall and your Island holiday begins. The large open plan kitchen/dining-room has recently been refurbished and this fabulous space fills with light from the windows and roof lights above. Bi-fold doors open onto the large patio and garden, making this a truly special space for spending time together whatever the occasion.
The kitchen/dining-room leads to two sitting-rooms, the larger space to the front of the property is a lovely spot to relax in the evenings enjoying time with family and friends. This room also benefits from a cosy wood-burner, perfect for those cooler evenings to snuggle up and watch your favourite show on the wall-mounted Smart TV.
The second sitting-room can be found towards the back of the house, a place to curl up with a good book at any time of the day and on warm days open the door and bring the outside in. The flexibility of the accommodation also means that the younger ones can play games and watch their own programmes in one of the sitting-rooms whilst the adults relax in the other.
Three of the five bedrooms, all with views overlooking the rear garden, can be found on the ground floor. The main bedroom with super-king size bed, is both comfortable and stylish and has access to the family shower-room located between the bedroom and second sitting-room.
On the other side of the house there are two further ground floor bedrooms. The second bedroom provides a 'zip and link' for flexible sleeping, and can be made up as a king-size double bed or two child-size single beds. The third bedroom is light and airy with its own en suite shower-room and a further family shower-room is situated between the two.
The layout on the ground floor is simply ideal, allowing you to have your own space but also spend quality time together with your loved ones. On those rainy days take the games into the garage and take advantage of the pool table, a perfect place for the younger ones to learn how to play.
If you are keen cyclists and want to take your bikes on holiday to explore the Island, the garage is a secure place to store bicycles or other equipment during your stay. The garage leads through to the utility-area with a further door to take you out to the rear garden.
Head up the stairs, to find the fourth and fifth bedrooms. The fourth allows flexible sleeping, with a 'zip and link' bed, choose from a super-king double or twin beds, the choice is yours. This lovely bedroom overlooks the rear garden and has the luxury of its own en suite bathroom. The fifth and final bedroom is a double room located to the front of the property, a pretty room also with an en suite shower-room.
The charming rear patio and large garden are both great spaces to spend time, whether on a bright morning for breakfast or in the evening for a spot of star gazing, as on a clear night the lack of light pollution means star filled skies.
The garden at Cara Cottage is the perfect place for everyone to get together for a barbecue and enjoy some garden games - or for relaxing after a day out exploring the Island, there is certainly something to keep everyone entertained!
Dog-friendly Bembridge beach is just a few minutes' walk from Cara Cottage and can be accessed along the unmade track via steps. Spend your morning walking with the sand under your toes (or paws!) and breathe in the fresh sea air before heading back for your morning cuppa. Alternatively, head into the village and visit the local bakery for your morning croissants or stock up for the day ahead.
If you have an interest in history, do not miss a visit to Bembridge Windmill. Owned by the National Trust, this is the last standing windmill on the Island and only a few minutes' drive away. The Bembridge Lifeboat Station is just as impressive and a wonderful spot to sit close to on those summer months with a picnic on the beach. You will treasure your Island adventures, being located on the east side of the island, you're close to the majority of the most beautiful beaches the island has to offer!
