TwinThe Old Barn is a wonderful hideaway, perfect for families looking for a true rural experience in this beautiful and peaceful part of East Sussex.
As you open the stable-door to the open plan living/dining-room, there are original beams and stone floors throughout and a beautiful welcoming inglenook fireplace with wood-burner for those chilly evenings. Prepare your favourite holiday meals in the kitchen, complete with microwave and Dolce Gusto coffee machine, and enjoy family time around the large dining-table whilst you listen to your favourite tunes on Alexa.
The Old Barn has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom both with characterful high sloping ceilings and 100% Egyptian cotton linen. There is also a spacious shower-room.
The Old Barn is in the grounds of the owners' lovely Grade II listed farmhouse and adjacent to three other holiday cottages: The Byre (4732), The Old Stable (4733) and The Coach House (4735), providing the option of holidaying with friends and family and also keeping some independence.
The enclosed private garden area is a great space for small children and dogs. There is also access to a patio area which has been beautifully planted and gives you the opportunity to chat to neighbouring guests.
Families will love visiting the resident farm animals which include chickens, pigs, and horses.
There is an on-site allocated parking space for The Old Barn and additional parking available on the farm. Guests have access to a freezer, washing machine and tumble-drier which are shared with the other cottages.
Two small or medium well-behaved dogs are most welcome but please note that dogs must be kept on a lead when they are not in their enclosed private garden.
Ashburnham is a peaceful hamlet, set in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are some lovely walks locally and the stunning South Downs National Park is only a short drive away.
The nearest pubs are the Swan Inn at Dallington, one of the oldest pubs in Sussex famous for its 'Sawblade' floor, and the Ash Tree Inn which is a wonderful dog-friendly country pub popular with locals and visitors alike.
Take a short drive to the historic town of Battle famous for its Abbey and home to several boutiques, arts and craft shops, pubs, and tea rooms. Battle also has a mainline station which connects to London and the coast at Hastings. You are only a short drive from the coast of Pevensey Bay, Cooden Beach, Hastings, and Eastbourne.
A little further afield enjoy a day at Camber Sands or the medieval town of Rye with its cobbled streets and array of antique shops.
This beautiful county is blessed with many historic houses, castles, gardens and attractions to visit for a day out.
