SingleIn the heart of Mousehole and within walking distance from the bustling harbour, this stunning dog-friendly cottage is simply charming and offers a wonderful seaside escape. Potters Cottage is tucked away in a secluded spot (shared with two other cottages) reached via a little cobbled lane.
Elegantly furnished Potters Cottage is a gorgeous retreat, perfect for a family, two couples or an intimate love nest for two. Once an old Pilchard Press, it has recently been lovingly refurbished to offer a chic and cosy bolthole for five lucky guests. Two traditional granite steps lead down to the characterful stable-door and straight into the impressive open plan living area which is packed with features. Sink into the cosy sofas and instantly switch off from the stresses and strains of everyday life.
The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to create those fabulous holiday breakfasts or lazy evening suppers. Plan your days out whilst gathering to enjoy delicious food; the stable-door can be opened wide on balmy summer evenings if you fancy a spot of al fresco dining in the sunshine.
Heading up the super-snug stairs you will find two double bedrooms and a single bedroom, all furnished with wonderfully comfy beds, crisp white linens, heritage radiators, lovely throws and plentiful cushions - you are guaranteed a relaxing night's slumber at Potters Cottage. The contemporary family bathroom is also located on this floor, with a bath and fitted shower.
Outside the property there is a shared courtyard area, where you can enjoy a spot of lunch in the sunshine or a cocktail before heading into Mousehole for a bite to eat.
Potters Cottage is a wonderful blend of old and new with all mod-cons taken care of within the stylish interior.
Around this area there are many wonderful walks from Mousehole. The coastal path to Lamorna is one of the prettiest you will find anywhere in Cornwall, or for the less energetic take a meander to Newlyn to buy fresh fish from the numerous shops there. There is also a good bus service from the village which can help you explore the area as well. The open top bus is a fun experience from Newlyn taking you all around the peninsula.
If you can try and take in a trip to the world famous Minack Theatre, dramatically perched on the cliffs above Porthcurno, it's well worth a visit and even more magical if you can see a production or concert whilst there, but don't forget to take a warm snuggly blanket as it can get very chilly.
Art lovers should visit the Newlyn Art Gallery, and a short drive away the Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, both in St Ives, are a must. St Ives is best reached by train as the scenery along the way is absolutely breathtaking.
Foodies have an abundance of choice in Mousehole. A short stroll away from Potters Cottage is 2 Fore Street and the restaurant in The Old Coastguard hotel (which overlooks the bay) is truly stunning. The Ship Inn (literally just around the corner) is the traditional Cornish village pub. If you don't fancy cooking breakfast then head over to Hole Foods Deli overlooking the harbour, their traditional Cornish breakfast is the best around.
There's plenty going on throughout the year here, but perhaps the most famous attractions are the harbour lights at Christmas when hundreds of people come to see the spectacular display.
