Treat yourself to a well deserved break at The Granary at Polwrath, a very special rural retreat. Nestled on the edge of the hamlet of Tremar, in a truly beautiful part of Cornwall, the owners have left no stone unturned to provide you with a good helping of luxury, utterly spoiling you to ensure you have the most wonderful holiday. With glorious and immaculately tended gardens, beautiful bedrooms each with their own TV, en suite facilities and not to mention fluffy robes and slippers, it's like a luxury hotel, and to top it all there is the ultimate; a fabulous heated indoor swimming pool, all to yourself. It really doesn't get much better than this.

With easy access to both coasts where wild beaches, pretty harbour villages and majestic cliffs are waiting to be discovered, to miles of countryside rambles that lead from your doorstep onto the rugged and breathtaking open landscape of Bodmin Moor it's also an excellent base for touring this magical county. The lovely owners live next door, on hand should you need any help but more importantly to leave you to enjoy their countryside paradise in peace.

Perfect for family getaways or friends looking for that ultimate luxury escape, we are sure you will be smitten from the minute you arrive. Immaculately presented both inside and out, the large entrance hall beckons you in to the first floor of this upside-down barn conversion. The open plan living-room will ensure you have many a social gathering throughout your holiday and the whopping 65 inch TV is the best excuse for a holiday film night yet. One of the double bedrooms is on the first floor, ideal for those who are less mobile or indeed prefer a little privacy. The other two bedrooms are on the ground floor each having access to the outdoor terrace, a lovely sunny spot for a quiet morning cuppa, a leisurely lunch or a relaxing sundowner. Leading off from the hallway is the pool-room, oh yes you don't even have to go outside to access it, and after your dip there's the mother of all shower-rooms to rinse off.

Outside the delights continue with a staggering two acres of glorious gardens for your pleasure. The large lawned area will delight the youngsters and your four-legged friends, and perhaps a holiday picnic will be on the cards. There's a large ornamental lake, often frequented by wild ducks, and plenty of space and places to sit for those who want to find a quiet spot to indulge in a good book or simply to kick back and immerse yourself in the wonderful surroundings, and who would blame you.

You would be forgiven for not wanting to venture away from Polwrath but if you can be tempted there is much on offer. This is a walker's and cyclist's paradise with a criss cross of paths and trails leading you along country lanes and across the rugged landscape of Bodmin Moor, discovering mining heritage and charming moorland villages many with a local pub to fuel you along the way. Spot bird and wildlife as you stroll around Siblyback Lake or follow the River Fowey as it tumbles and cascades along the wooded valley at Golitha Falls, treating yourself to a delicious hearty snack at Inkies Smokehouse- highly recommended.

The historic houses and gardens of Cotehele (National Trust), Lanhydrock (National Trust) and Port Eliot are well worth a visit and the open air theatre at Sterts and the Rum Store at Carnglaze Caverns serve up a varied and unique offering of live entertainment and theatre. No visit to Cornwall is complete without a trip to the coast and from the nearby market town of Liskeard hop on the train to take the pretty valley line to the traditional seaside town of Looe where you might join a fishing trip, build some sandcastles or perhaps have a good stomp along the coastal footpath to the charming fishing village of Polperro.
