This exceptionally spacious cottage is perfectly placed for a holiday exploring east Devon and the spectacular World Heritage Jurassic Coast - south Somerset and Dorset. All are within such easy reach of the cottage which is just nine miles from Lyme Regis.

The original farmstead setting offers tranquil surroundings and a huge south-facing garden complete with your very own summer-house and rural views. Once one of the traditional farm buildings, Stable Cottage has high beamed ceilings, a large sociable open plan kitchen/dining-room, a lovely comfortable sitting-room with an open fire for cosy evenings in, complemented by access to Sky (including sports and film channels) and two well sized bedrooms which are both en suite - one with a bath and fitted shower and the other a shower-room. With a separate utility-room and plenty of storage space, this cottage is a real home-from-home.

The cobbled courtyard is a glimpse of times past and provides plenty of parking and turning space right next to the cottage's front door. The farmhouse where the owners live is next door, but you will enjoy a great degree of privacy with French doors opening onto the private patio and gardens which are not overlooked at all.

Stable Cottage is an ideal base, offering flexible accommodation for a family of four, for two couples, or for just two guests who would like a bedroom each. The garden is lovely for children as it is fully enclosed, level and has a lawn for playing on. There is also an additonal play area with swings, a slide and climbing frame. The little feature pond is fun for spotting tadpoles and dragonflies, or bats dipping down at dusk for a drink, but please do watch over very young children.

This area is packed with things to do for all ages and at all times of year. The Jurassic Coast offers some dramatic walks along the South West Coast Path, and delightful seaside towns and fishing villages for strolling and browsing.

There are sandy beaches, pebbled beaches and beaches for fossil hunting. Favourites nearby are Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Branscombe and Beer. Just on the border with Dorset is of course Lyme Regis, but just beyond is Charmouth, where the best fossils are to be found.

The Cathedral City of Exeter is a short drive, or train trip from Honiton. Cathedral Green is surrounded by cafes and restaurants, and the quay down on the River Exe has lots of quirky independent shops, as well as bike and canoe hire, and boat trips along the canal that run all the way to the estuary. The Victoria and Albert Museum has had a fabulous upgrade and you can learn all about the city's Roman past. Honiton itself is a wonderful market town that is renowned for its antiques shops and weekly markets.

Away from the seaside there is much to do for the younger generation. Bicton Park has beautiful gardens and a woodland railway. The Escot Estate offers the Wildwood Escot experience - home to many wonderful animals, a fabulous maze and of course play-areas and restaurant. Crealy Theme Park and Resort - an adventure park with indoor and outdoor play-areas, and the Pecorama Steam Railway at Beer, to name but a few.
