Tucked away at the end of a Cornish country lane, this lovely old farmhouse is set in idyllic surroundings, overlooking adjacent farmland to the sea beyond.

Imaginatively restored Rosteague Farmhouse remains full of character and warmth with a delightful mix of antique and contemporary furnishings.

In summer, throw open the double doors from the impressive oak-framed dining-room to the terrace and garden to bring the outside in; this is the perfect setting for lazy breakfasts and sundowner suppers.

Retreat to the snug sitting-room in winter – a blissful television-free zone and relax in front of the cosy wood-burner while the children watch a film in the other sitting-room (there are two!).

With a large enclosed garden there is plenty of space for family games of football or rounders, and the glorious sandy Towan beach is a 10 minute stroll through the fields. Start the day with a refreshing swim followed by a reviving coffee and bacon sandwich from the artisan Thirstea van called Earl, which is situated above the beach, or enjoy a cliffside walk along the stunning coastal footpath in this truly special location.

The seaside village of Portscatho is close by with a selection of shops, friendly pubs and galleries and there is an excellent local farm shop at Curgurrell selling local produce, including freshly landed fish, crab and lobster.

The well-known Hidden Hut cafe at Porthcurnick beach serves delicious outdoor cooked food and has regular ticketed feast nights during the year. Nearby is the Driftwood Hotel with its Michelin star restaurant and The Idle Rocks and Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes – both have excellent waterside restaurants.
