Packed with character, charm and comfort, Little St Hugh is a cosy retreat for two, tucked away in the pretty village of Boscastle – it will have you leaving your worries behind from the minute you step inside. Renovated with the utmost care and attention, the owners, who live across the small courtyard with their friendly cats, have cleverly combined their love of antiques, artefacts and original features with stylish modern-day living.

The open plan living-room with its original slate floors, wooden beams, sleek kitchen and relaxing sofas is a delight and the wood-burning stove will be an inviting draw for those winter escapes. The cottage staircase leads up to the bedroom, with its super comfy bed and views over the surrounding gardens and the Jordan Valley woodlands.

Outside you can enjoy your morning coffee in the pretty courtyard or sundowners in the garden. The garden, which is approached down a flight of steps, is shared with the discreet owners but you have your own dedicated area where you can sit and admire the beautiful surroundings.

The harbourside village of Boscastle will not disappoint and is a popular destination all year round. A warm welcome awaits you in the traditional pubs and cafes, there are galleries and gift shops to browse, the pretty harbour to discover and for the less fainted hearted, even a witchcraft museum! Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this is a perfect retreat for both walkers and nature lovers alike, with wooded valley trails and stunning coastal paths offering fabulous views around every corner.

Close by, the village of Tintagel is steeped in history and Arthurian legend and for some traditional seaside fun, why not enjoy a Cornish ice cream in the seaside town of Bude?
