DoubleWhat a view you will lap up from this pretty, traditional end of terrace cottage in the centre of the charming seaside village of Portscatho. As the name suggests, the cottage is located opposite the head of the slipway of the fishing harbour and adjacent beach.
Set back from the road, the paved patio front garden proves to be the perfect spot to relax and watch the world go by or just enjoy the fantastic view across the bay but if the weather turns chilly you can always retire inside, light up the multi-burner and enjoy the views snuggled up on the cosy sofa or even tucked up in bed! This really is the perfect summer cottage and cosy winter retreat.
If you can manage to drag yourself away from this idyllic spot you won’t be disappointed. Right on your doorstep the village has a general store, just over 100 yards away, butchers, cafe, pub, Post Office and galleries and you can join the lovely National Trust coast path which is a short stroll away.
There are a multitude of wonderful eating places within a few miles, from the famous Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick beach, the Rosevine and Driftwood hotels with their outstanding restaurants and The Idle Rocks and Hotel Tresanton in nearby St Mawes which both offer exceptional food and sublime sea views. There are galleries selling original Cornish art, farmers’ markets and renowned Cornish gardens to explore. The nearby King Harry Ferry crosses the River Fal giving easy access to the pretty Cathedral City of Truro, maritime Falmouth and the dramatic cliffs and sandy surfing beaches of the north coast.
