This beautiful barn conversion at the heart of a working farm is just inland from Dorset's spectacular Jurassic Coast and its beaches. The rural setting will please all the family – lovely countryside walks, a tennis court for the energetic, the comings and goings of tractors and livestock, for younger children to watch from the cottage.

Sturthill Stable is extremely spacious, it even has a separate playroom with TV, DVD player and a small multi-games table. The three bedrooms (one en suite) look over the farm buildings to the countryside beyond.

Nearby is the bustling town of Bridport, which has some great cafes and a street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Hive Beach Cafe at Burton Bradstock, overlooking the beach, serves locally caught seafood and delicious cakes. A short drive will take you to Lyme Regis, with its iconic Cobb and Monmouth beach, where you can hunt for fossils, enjoy the cafes and restaurants or just relax on the beach with an ice cream.

Sturthill Stable is a great base for exploring this beautiful part of Dorset; the South West Coast Path and the Jurassic Coast begin at Old Harry Rocks on the Isle of Purbeck, only an hour's drive from your holiday home.

Visit Corfe Castle en route, the sandy beaches at Studland or the stunning Etches collection of fossils at Kimmeridge.

Above the cottage there is a tennis court and large grassy-area where children can play. A small stream runs past the cottage – enjoy your own little bridge to reach the front door!

The owner lives in the original farmhouse, on hand should you need any information but tucked away so that you will feel independent.

A local shoot uses adjoining land during the pheasant season, from the beginning of October until the beginning of February.
