KingLocated in a gorgeous, rural location, this detached granite, reverse level cottage has all you need for a relaxing break for four, plus a doggy companion. Set on a tranquil working farm Trenance, which means "farm in the valley" in the Cornish language, is within walking distance of Carbis Bay where you can get the little branch line train into St Ives or with sturdy walking shoes and a determination, you can walk there on a dry sunny day.
Park up before strolling along the granite path and up a couple of steps to the front door and enter the hall. The ground floor houses the two comfy bedrooms, one with 'zip and link' (king-size or 2'6'' twin) bed and one beamed ceiling king-size room, both with lovely outlooks over the surrounding countryside. The family bathroom with white suite includes a bath, fitted shower, WC and wash-basin.
Climbing the stairs to the first floor, the open plan living-room has a warming wood-burner effect electric stove to warm you on chilly mornings and there's a Smart TV for family film nights. A traditional stable door invites you to descend down the granite steps to the enclosed rear lawned garden for family fun and games in the great outdoors. You can also stroll along the private lane which leads you into glorious fields with stunning views across open countryside to the coast, Godrevy lighthouse and beyond.
Carbis Bay which means "causeway" in the Cornish language, really is a few minutes walk away and is home to one of the most gorgeous sandy beaches for beach babes of all ages and in June 2021 played host to the 47th G7 summit.
St Ives's azure blue seas, multiple white sandy beaches, art galleries, eclectic shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes have been welcoming artists, holiday makers and seagulls (!!) for ever and really needs no introduction - you simply must visit for at least a pasty or an ice cream.
Whilst in this amazing part of Cornwall, other places of interest and worthy of one of your precious holiday days is a stroll along the South West Coast Path with miles of sea and sky, rugged cliffs and moors. Geevor Tin Mine, a former working tin mine closed in 1990, but now has a Visitor Centre for you to discover and learn more about the history of tin mining and there's a cafe and shop to round off your visit.
The Minack Theatre and Rowena Cade Exhibition at Porthcurno are worth a visit - if nothing else for the amazing sea views - book a show whilst there and enjoy a picnic on the cliffs whilst watching the actors perform below.
Wherever your interest lies be it surfing, hiring a boat, bird watching, visiting a garden or simply having a beach day, there is so much to do in this area, you will be planning a return visit before you even leave.
