Tucked into a sheltered corner of attractively landscaped grounds, Vougeot is a real home-from-home, comfortably furnished and offering a wonderfully restful feel. Part of a small modern development of terraced town houses, it is set within walled grounds above the centre of the trendy and delightful sailing town of Fowey, with the harbourside and shops only the shortest of walks down the hill.

Vougeot's light-filled, open plan living-room is a relaxing space with comfortable sofas, a large television, DVDs to watch and books to read. French windows open onto a small sheltered patio, a little oasis of calm, overlooking the communal gardens, a lovely spot for breakfast or evening drinks.

Down in the town, the narrow streets brim with plenty of appealing shops, ancient pubs, restaurants and cafes to explore.

Vougeot has a private parking space in the development's own private car park, from where four steps lead down to a path through the landscaped grounds to the cottage. This is a lovely, comfortable cottage from which to explore, great for both families and couples.

It's only a short walk down the hill to the centre of town and the harbourside, and well worth the steep walk back up! Fowey is a delightful little town, one of Cornwall's most popular yachting destinations and once home of the celebrated author Daphne du Maurier.

The coastal footpath meanders through the town and around Gribben Head, while car and passenger ferries cross from the waterfront to Bodinnick and Polruan on the opposite side, from where you can explore the beautiful south east coast beyond.

The sandy beach at Readymoney Cove is less than a mile away and walkers will enjoy a stomp across the cliffs to the beautiful little harbour and beach at Polkerris, where a watersports centre offers lessons and equipment hire. The Rashleigh Arms and Sam's on the Beach, a popular seafood bistro, offer sustenance for the journey back!
