We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday both in the cottage and St Agnes itself. Grove Cottage was clean and generally well presented (the kitchen was well done and well equipped, with the only notable exception being the lack of a frying pan). Operating instructions for all items were contained in the Welcome Folder and this was easy to understand. Having said this, there are a couple of items which we feel worthy of note, but would not stop us recommending Grove cottage, namely: 1. The parking access is reasonably narrow and reversing out onto what is a fairly busy road can be awkward. If possible, it is perhaps better to reverse in (depending on cars which park opposite). 2. For those taking a dog, the lack of any gate (even between the cottage and the games room) means that your dog is unable to go outside without supervision. In hot weather, where they may just want to have a lay down outside, this could be problematic. The cottage resides on the main thoroughfare through St Agnes. 3. Mobile signal is weak / non-existent, but the Wifi is good (36Mpbs approx.). 4. There is no tumble dryer; this would be a welcome addition (appreciated that space is limited). ...

Mrs Skelton June 2024

We enjoyed our stay at Grove Cottage which is an attractive detached property. Rooms all a good size with comfortable and stylish furnishings, all in keeping with type of property. Nothing is straight and has wonky floors upstairs but this just adds to the charm. One Kingsize, one double and a twin bedroom, all spacious with attractive bedding. We all slept well. Bathroom is massive and shower is amazing - excellent water pressure. Bonus to this property is the games room, which has a pool table and converts to a table tennis table, this provided lots of fun. No smart tv though but there is a hdmi connection if you wish to take any devices. Area - near the top of a hill with a steep incline, not very suitable for the elderly, however my 85 year old Dad managed. St Agnes is a fab location it has everything, pubs, bakery, coffee shop, hotel, hairdressers, butchers, chippy, cash machine, beach, coastal walks, kayaking, surf hire shop and other lovely beaches 4 miles away. Highly recommend going to Porthtowan beach for a visit. Only downside is the M5 to get there, which is horrendous on a Friday and the A30 was also bad due to roadworks. Having said that, I’m glad we got to experience Cornwall, St Agnes and Grove Cottage, missing it already. ...
