The sitting-room is the heart of the cottage and enjoys a view out across your private patio to the platform.

All rooms lead off of the sitting-room including the stairs to the bedrooms. The sitting-room is comfortable and cosy for those colder months.
Watch what is happening on the line while making your morning cup of coffee.

The view from the kitchen window is very unique.
The bathroom is on the ground floor and benefits from a bath and an electric shower.
Please mind your head as you ascend and descend the stairs which are steep but benefit from a handrail.

The Cheesewring on Bodmin Moor, a walkers paradise!
Lanhydrock is the perfect National Trust country house and estate, with the feel of a wealthy but unpretentious family home. You can also hire bikes and head out on the marked cycle paths.
St Thomas parish church, again minutes from the cottage, offers a tranquil setting and was once the site of the largest priory in Cornwall, which was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1540. The priory ruins are visible adjacent to the church.

We loved our stay here! Please be aware that it is an old, character property that comes with it's quirks, but this makes it all the more appealing! Nigel and Kay were fantastic hosts, and staying right on the Launceston Steam Railway platform was amazing - they welcomed us on to the trains and around the area! Would highly recommend....

A lovely cottage for everyone but especially for those who like steam trains. At 140 years old Lilian is still a working train alongside her slightly younger engine shed mates, Covertcoat & Dorothea. The cottage owners who are working on the railway most days, are very helpful & welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped & spotless as is the rest of the cottage with comfortable beds & pillows. The chairs & sofa in the living room are also comfortable with free sat if you want to watch a little TV at the end of the day & there is a separate dining room. The garden opens onto the platform & the cottage has its own large parking space in the lane in front of the cottage. The famous Jamaica Inn is a 20 minute drive away serving breakfast & dinners & is only one of many places to visit in this very beautiful part of the UK. ...

We had an excellent break, Nigel and Kay are truly superb hosts-on hand when needed and very welcoming, we had a very memerorable holiday. Railway cottage is highly recommended by us!
