Well worth the money for a beautiful relaxing stay ..Even our 13 yr old son didn't mention his computer once in the week of our stay, so it must have been great for all ages. Hope to stay again soon We will certainly book again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone to stay in that property !! ...

This is a beautiful barn, easily suitable for 2 families to stay together and very well furnished. The surrounding land is great for children who love to run around. The owner lives nearby and is very friendly and helpful. If you stay here though, be prepared to drive out a distance each day as there is not much to do nearby and nothing in walking distance. The local shop is literally a shed and unmanned so only for treats and milk or bread. The local pub is only open at the weekend and their menu is limited but they are very friendly. There is only one TV in the barn despite it saying two....

Very convenient location if you are prepared to be slightly back from the sea.

Mowhay Barn is a spacious and beautifully-situated house in a superb part of Cornwall. We found the house provided us all with lots of space (two kitchens and two lovely lounges) having amazing and large private grounds with mature trees, shrubs and flowers and far-reaching country views. This was well beyond our expectations. We spent several lazy afternoons just soaking up sunshine and tranquility in the grounds or eating al fresco. Inside, there was plentiful equipment and some fascinating antique furniture along with delightful views. Also, hundreds of books and loads of games. A total treat. The location was also great. All the Rame Peninsula's wonderful scenery and villages are never more than 5-8 minutes drive, including Whitsand Bay with its long golden-sand beach (and steep walk down!). We particularly liked the estate grounds of Mount Edgcumbe House with walks by Plymouth Sound or on top in the deer park with stunning 360 degree views across the sea and the countryside (even extending to distant Dartmoor). On top of all that, there are some great eateries - particularly The Canteen at Maker Heights which has top-rank cooking at an incredibly modest price. Also, lovely pubs in the quaint fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand. Just up the hill on the B road is an excellent cafe (The Salty Dog) and SE Cornwall's top Cornish Pasty producer (Cornish Pod). Amazing pasties - we're now all 'pastied out'! There was a 7 minute footpath to the characterful local pub in St John and an easy drive to local shops or supermartkets in Millbrook or Torpoint. I expect I shouldn't be raving so much about this place as it will probably now fill up with eager guests but, as a very experienced cottage finder, this is such a find!...
