Our stay at Beech Cottage was made even more special when a study group from the Kingcombe centre placed a moth trap in the garden. They allowed us to discover the ‘finds’ of the previous night with them and their enthusiasm for moths was infectious! None of us had any idea of the variety of moths to be found. We also enjoyed walking in the meadows in early summer seeing the variety of wild flowers. We think their were bats nesting under the eaves above the conservatory as we saw them fly out in the evening - no doubt catching some of those lovely moths!...

Thanks so much for taking the time to send us your review. Well, what a different holiday treat you had and probably not something that you would've been expecting to do on your stay - but a perfect location for it with the cottage being so close to the Nature Reserve. We're so pleased that some special holiday memories were made. Tressa, Customer Support...

What a wonderful place! It was so good to be in real countryside that felt remote, peaceful and beautiful. The bluebells and primroses were out and everything looked gorgeous. So good for three city families to feel a sense of freedom and to be truly next to nature. We loved the cottage as it was perfect for adults and children. It was comfortable, cosy and very easy for three families to be in. And the delicious cake on arrival was an added bonus. The visitors centre down the road is just fabulous and the children enjoyed a great Easter egg hunt there. It was a really great week and we would definitely recommend it....

Thanks so much for sharing your experience of Beech Cottage. As you found it's an amazing spot to experience the countryside, and you were no doubt treated to the very early display of bluebells this year, courtesy of the warm winter. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay (and of course the cake!) and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Tanya, Customer Support...

Lovely setting, beautiful well furnished cottage with lots of lovely hot water. What more could you want? Do remember to take all your food with you although we were left a lovely lemon drizzle cake, milk etc. My second visit and will certainly go again next year....
