Whether you choose to carve a traditional dove or decide to make a decoration that is a spitting image of your family dog, this simple-yet-effective tree decoration craft is the perfect way to add a little something special to your home this Christmas.
So, what are we talking about? A golden tree decoration, hand carved by you. And here's how to make it...
Making kit
A tube of tomato puree (Any will do!)
Scissors
Fine ribbon
Something to draw with
Ice cube tray (so you can freeze the tomato puree to use at a later date!)
How to make
1. Squeeze all of the tomato puree into an ice cube tray or tub so you can use another time.
2. Cut down the side of the empty metal tube and tidy up the edges so you have a rectangular shape. Then rinse.
3. Lay the inside (gold side) of the metal on a protected surface. We just put a tea towel on the table under the metal sheet to protect the surface.
4. Begin to draw! Using a pen or something that works well for carving a design into the metal, draw your chosen design into the metal. Once done, cut the outline and put a hole at the top so you can hang it.
5. Then all that's left to do is pop a ribbon on and hang your beautifully crafted decoration on the tree!
