Ceramics with Naku

Naku Ceramics Studio opened its doors offering classes and private workshops in Penryn, Cornwall, several months ago. So the marketing team decided to give it a try and get creative!

A perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening, Alisha at Naku Ceramics Studio offers classes, courses and private workshops at her beautiful studio in Penryn, Cornwall.

The marketing team at Classic decided that rather than a big Christmas party or meal out, instead we'd rather spend some quality time together, getting creative!

Alisha at Naku Ceramics Studio provided us with an incredible team experience, and was an exceptional teacher. Particularly patient with the varying requests and questions we were all firing her way throughout the private class!

Our two hour session kicked off with a lovely cup of tea and introduction to the class and studio. The space is beautiful at Naku Studio; very inspiring and relaxing.

Then, we familiarised ourselves with what was set up in front of us. All of the equipment and clay to make ourselves a mug! None of us knew where to start with it all but Alisha guided us through step by step and we all ended up with mugs of various sizes, all with their own unique style of decoration.

The two hours flew by, and we all left feeling like we'd love to do it again. Perhaps next time creating something different, or trying a longer course.

A little review from each of the team:

Liz Arnell, Marketing Co-ordinator: This year, our marketing team decided chose an activity for our Christmas outing, and it was such a great event. Alisha was a wonderful host and perfect instructor for the whole team. It was simply a lovely way to spend time together, and the perfect Christmas treat!

Lucy Williamson, Content Creator: It was lovely getting the team together for a wholesome pottery making evening at Naku Studio in Penryn! I hadn’t done pottery making in years, so it was great to give it a go again. Alisha was absolutely brilliant and gave us a step-by-step tutorial (with some helpful tips along the way) on how to make a ceramic mug. She provided us with all the clay, tools, and paint we needed to make our own handmade creations at the workshop. I decided to make a classic-looking mug with a swirly handle, and as I live near the sea, I chose blues and turquoises for painting it. It was such a wonderful evening! I’m super excited to see everyone’s final mugs, and I think I may have found a new hobby!

Dominique Adams, PR & Communications: It was brilliant to do something a little different for the marketing team’s Christmas get together, and I very much enjoyed our pottery lesson with Alisha. Alisha is a fantastic (and very patient!) teacher and I would highly recommend doing a workshop with family, friends or colleagues at Naku Studio. We can't wait to see the results!
