Cornwall holiday for two in September

When the summer holidays come to an end, Cornwall gets a little quieter. Families return home from their beach breaks and pretty Cornish towns slow down once more. But summer weather continues for another month. September is a continuation of August’s sunshine, with cooler nights and less visitors. Perfect for a quiet holiday for two.

Padstow in north Cornwall is a beautiful location for a short break together. The drive isn’t too far and the beaches are just as fabulous as those further south. The town is made for romantic couple’s holidays; names of reputable chefs line the streets at restaurants boasting sophisticated menus and dining experiences. Eat with the likes of Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth to treat your taste buds while you’re on holiday. Alternatively, try your hand at cooking with local Cornish ingredients. Pick up some produce then head back to your holiday home to cook up a storm. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, have a go at catching a sizeable crab to take home for dinner, foraging some samphire on the way to go with it.

Just 20 minutes’ walk from Padstow, Tregwelen Shepherd’s Hut is a stunning spot for your next holiday. Returning here after a day out in Padstow is just heaven. An impressive view over the Camel Estuary will make you feel at one with nature, very close to the Cornish coastline and blessed to have chosen this amazing space for your break. The hut is a cosy place to stay for two. With a wood-burner and an en suite bathroom, this is far more luxurious than any other glamping experience in Cornwall. Our glamping locations are all about the added luxuries and each one has the same level of quality that you’d expect from our holiday cottages. A relaxed weekend here would be truly beautiful. Take a lazy morning, read a book with the view, wander into Padstow for a look around and maybe buy some treats to take home for friends and family. Spend the evenings rustling up a barbecue for dinner with a glass of wine in hand. Eat your smoked creation at the picnic table as the evening air brings in a chill. Once it’s dark, grab a blanket and light the fire pit to toast marshmallows and tell stories under the stars. There’s a romantic Cornish fairytale holiday to be had at Tregwelen this September.

Tregwelen has stunning views over the Camel Estuary.
