We are really pleased to be able to support Sunshine Radio with their fundraising efforts this year. Based on the Isle of Wight, Sunshine Radio is a small charity run entirely by volunteers and has been in existence for 40 years.
Sunshine Radio create free audio entertainment for patients of the local hospital, St Mary’s, and on the internet, broadcasting for 16 hours per day from 10am to 2am, seven days a week. Providing a varied mix of content for listeners, Sunshine Radio hope to extend their service to residential nursing homes and for patients receiving community care in the future. They are currently raising funds for new equipment and to refurbish a studio room where they can host local musicians and creatives - diversifying their content for listeners. We are delighted to have donated £500 towards this.
Commenting on Classic’s support, Anne Lovelock, Station Director, says: ‘We are very appreciative of Classic Cottages support, especially in these recent difficult times. This donation will enable us to move forward on our upgrading plans.’
