Camborne is also the birthplace of Richard Trevithick, inventor of the steam engine, and annual celebrations are held in the town around the end of April. Just off the A30, Camborne is ideally placed for access to the Heritage Coast and Godrevy beach as well as the popular Tehidy Woods just outside of Portreath.
