Day bedTreat yourself and your loved ones to a memorable break at this stylish abode, which is centrally located in the historic town of Battle, East Sussex. Close to all amenities and surrounded by beautiful walks, it's only a short distance from a mainline station with direct links to the coast and London.
Beautifully furnished throughout, The Mews boasts high ceilings, beams and a large open plan kitchen/living area with plenty of space to rustle up your favourite holiday treats and double doors that open to a small south-facing garden with a sun-trap patio. The perfect spot for al fresco dining, enjoying a cup of coffee from the Nespresso machine or indulging in a glass of fizz.
When the time comes to turn in for the night there are two bedrooms; a spacious king-size double with en suite shower-room and a single room, both dressed in luxury linens for a treasured night's sleep.
Venture out to the high street where there are several independent shops, quaint tea-rooms, pubs and restaurants. Wander around the market square or visit the ruins and battleground of Battle Abbey. There is the Battle Museum of Local History and many events throughout the year including the Battle Bonfire celebrations in November which is run by the oldest bonfire society in the world, the Battel Bonfire Boyes.
Just outside the town you'll find a plethora of footpaths and cycle tracks to explore including the 1066 Country Walk which runs through the wood where you can share the journey that William the Conqueror took with his Norman troops after landing at Pevensey. The walk will take you to Winchelsea and the ancient Cinque Port town of Rye with its pretty cobbled streets and abundance of antique shops.
You also have Battle Great Woods, home to an abundance of wildlife including deer, badgers, rabbits and many difference species of birds. For a day at the coast, visit the coastal towns of Hastings or Eastbourne with its Victorian pier and Italian gardens or the sand dunes of Camber Sands.
Other places to explore include the South Downs National Park, Herstmonceux Castle and Science Centre, Bodiam Castle, Pevensey Castle, Rye Castle Museum, Sissinghurst Castle, Rye Harbour Nature Reserve, Rudyard Kipling's House Bateman's, Winchelsea Beach, Kent and Sussex Railway, Bodiam River Boats, Great Dixter House and Gardens, Glyndebourne Opera House, Bedgebury National Pinetum or the iconic landscape of Dungeness.
Whatever takes your fancy, you'll be spoilt for choice in this beautiful part of Sussex!
