TwinPerfect for families and friends who wish to holiday together in a quiet unspoilt countryside location. This single-storey lodge sits under the big Norfolk skies and is located just outside the pretty hamlet of Wighton, close to the stunning coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea where you can enjoy the ever-changing tides and the beautiful harbour.
One of three holiday barns on site, Sunnyside is set back from a country lane with very little traffic noise, apart from the odd tractor from the neighbouring farm, a cyclist passing by or the hooting of the local barn owls. This area really is a haven for wildlife with bird reserves at Blakeney Point and Titchwell Marsh, so a real must for bird and animal lovers.
Step into the spacious hallway to find three bedrooms and the open plan living-area, which overlooks the shared central lawn with subtle topiary. This comfortable and well-designed space is light and bright with sliding patio doors leading out to the garden. There is a well-equipped kitchen complete with washing machine and dishwasher and for coffee lovers a Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine complete with pods ready for your arrival. Relax in the comfy seating and choose a movie on the Smart TV or simply relax, novel in hand with a coffee.
For larger families, perhaps with grandparents or friends, why not book neighbouring Sunrise Lodge (5627) where the adjoining sound proofed door between the properties can be opened up so you can spend time together making those lasting holiday memories. Sunset Lodge (5628) is also available if you wish to book all three! Will it be a scenic cycle ride with breakfast in neighbouring Binham or a stroll around the Holkham estate, there is so much to do when you stay at Sunnyside.
At the far end of the hall, step into the main bedroom with comfy super-king bed and your private en suite shower-room, there is ample space for the travel cot if you are bringing one. This lovely barn conversion provides guests with plenty of storage options allowing the space to be free from clutter to simply relax on holiday and enjoy a great night's sleep. The double and twin bedrooms share the bathroom.
Just over a mile away is the friendly local pub The Carpenters Arms, here you can enjoy tasty dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients and a welcoming atmosphere, great for foodies and on warmer days, sit out and enjoy the garden. Alternatively hire a bike with cycle hire available next door from 'On Yer Bike' cycle hire! A holiday here offers many options depending on how active or inactive you want to be.
The small cycle hire business 'On Yer bike' (Norfolk Cycle Hire) is nearby, why not leave the car behind and hire some wheels, book cycle hire and explore the surrounding countryside and trails, there's so much to see.
Take a short drive or cycle ride and visit the bustling harbour at Wells-next-the-Sea, start the day with a hearty breakfast or perhaps coffee and cake on the picnic benches. The sweeping sandy beach beyond is a delight adorned with colourful beach huts which enjoy fabulous views of the harbour, you might even spot seals basking on the sands and hear the sails on the colourful yachts leaving the harbour.
Approximately thirty miles from Wighton is the RSPB Reserve of Snettisham, Wild Ken Hill has been featured on Springwatch with a sustainable farming project why not book a tour! Snettisham also boasts fine dining at the very popular Bistro 'The Old Bank', booking ahead is highly recommended!
Nature lovers will no doubt enjoy a scenic boat ride to visit the seals, trips are available locally from both Blakeney and Morston Harbour so why not give it a try, you will be amazed by the seal colony and the abundance of wildlife so don't forget your binoculars! Alternatively take a ride, a short drive or manageable walk to neighbouring Binham, approximately two miles away and visit the must-see ancient monuments at Binham Priory followed by a delicious lunch at The Little Dairy Shop.
For a fabulous day out take a trip to Holkham Hall, an 18th Century Palladian style house nestled within twenty-five thousand acres of rolling parkland. Based on designs by William Kent and built by Thomas Coke, the First Earl of Leicester; the current Earl and his family take great pride in opening their doors every year to share the treasures within, including the truly breathtaking marble hall with an impressive fifty-foot dome ceiling.
