If you are after the perfect child and dog-friendly stay in the Cotswolds, then you will fall in love with The Cottage at Maugersbury. The property benefits from rare unobstructed views across the entire valley all the way to Churchill and further afield. Having a south-facing aspect ensures the cottage is flooded with light making it a quiet place of solace and escapism perfect for a getaway.

The pretty hamlet of Maugersbury is just a stone's throw from the bustling town of Stow-on-the-Wold and makes a great base to explore the local area and enjoy the many shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. The beautifully situated garden is the perfect place for your little ones to let off some steam, whilst you relax with a gin and tonic…and don't forget it's completely enclosed so ideal for your canine friends too.

The Cottage at Maugersbury is located just off a delightful country road via a private lane so is lovely and peaceful. The entrance hall is the ideal place to kick off your boots after a brisk country ramble, and there is a convenient cloakroom with lots of space to hang coats and scarves in the chillier months.

Step inside the hallway and you are led to the lovely cream kitchen which is fully equipped with all the accoutrements you would expect, perfect for the more advanced chefs among you. A breakfast-bar is at the centre of room and opens out to a comfy seating area creating a wonderfully social space to enjoy your breakfast whilst planning the day's adventures…and let's not the forget those views! Next door is a cosy dining-area, and like the sitting-room and kitchen, benefits from being south-facing so get lots of sunlight.

Holiday evenings can be spent in the spacious sitting-room which boasts an enticingly roomy sofa where you can cuddle up with the family and enjoy a roaring log fire. This lovely family room is a space to kick back with your loved ones and share some memories. Why not try your hand at a game of cards?

Upstairs there are three comfortable bedrooms offering flexible sleeping options. The serene main bedroom with en suite shower-room enjoys a super-king bed and there's ample space to stretch out with a coffee and gaze out at the surrounding Cotswold countryside. The middle bedroom has a single bed and the third bedroom has both a comfortable double bed and a single day bed which can be pulled out to create a double bed or simply left as a single. There is also a large family bathroom where you can wash away the day in the inviting corner bath or freshen up in the separate enclosed shower cubicle.

Outside, a 25-metre-long garden can be reached from French doors in the sitting-room. The garden is equipped with a large dining-table, lounging sofa and gas Weber barbecue, perfect for lazy days. The garden leads to a further paved area along the back of the property - there really is no better spot to reconnect with nature and watch the sun go down.

This is a well-loved country home that welcomes dogs and is a perfect place to enjoy the very best of authentic Cotswolds life.

Maugersbury is essentially an extension to Stow-on-the-Wold which is a few minutes' drive or a short walk away. A 35-minute drive takes you to Cheltenham where you can indulge in some sightseeing, and you'll find a plethora of exceptional restaurants and bars where you can dine or entertain friends. Just approximately a 6-minute drive away you'll find Daylesford and Bamford Spa and the famous farm shop which is popular with locals and celebrities. Also close by is the famous Wild Rabbit pub in Kingham and The Fox pub at Oddington - both deliver exceptional service and delicious gastro pub food.

Soho Farmhouse is approximately a 25-minute drive through the beautiful countryside which the local taxi service is happy to drive you to for a great night out.

The Cottage at Maugersbury is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with many scenic walks and cycle routes right on its doorstep, and if you want to enjoy the scenic spots that the Cotswolds have to offer, why not arrange a tour with Cotswold Walks and Hikes and Bikes, all just a short car journey from Stow.

If you want to discover the history of Stow, take a walk around the market square, where you will find the town stocks at one end which date back to the 15th Century and which are shaded by an old elm tree and at the opposite end you will find the ancient market cross, originally erected as a symbolic reminder to traders of the times to deal honestly and fairly.

Take a stroll over to St Edward's Parish Church where you will find the enchanting-looking tree-surrounded doorway; it is here you will find a memorial of those who fought in the last Civil War.

Discover over 500 species of birds by visiting Birdland Park and Gardens, which is a lovely spot to enjoy a picnic, surrounded by wildlife, or perhaps make a visit to the nearby village of Bourton-on-the-Water and discover a miniature replica of the Cotswold stone village at the Model Village.

Spend the day in beloved towns in the north Cotswolds such as Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and Burford or further afield in Cirencester and Oxford where you will find Blenheim Palace.
