Zip and linkFrom the rolling hills of the Dorset countryside to the beautiful historic streets of Sherborne and down to the Jurassic Coast, explore it all whilst staying at The Gardens. This charming property caters excellently for couples and families (including the four-legged members of your family!).
The traditional pathway leads you from the road, past the neighbouring cottages and along to The Gardens - this short walk gives you a real sense of your location in this characterful setting. The kitchen is the heart of this home and makes a lovely space for creating meals to share at the end of a busy day exploring. The sitting/dining-room is light and bright - with the famous Sherborne School's glorious sports playing fields on one side and a view to the garden from the dining-area, there is always something to catch your eye. The fireplace makes a lovely focal point in the room and the wood-burner makes this cottage ideal for a stay at any time throughout the year. The bathroom completes the ground floor.
Climbing the stairs from the kitchen you will find two comfy bedrooms - one with a feature king-size bed and one with a 'zip and link' bed, making it perfect for children or a couple. Both rooms have been thoughtfully decorated to create calm and welcoming spaces, to enjoy breakfast in bed or a moment to catch up with some reading.
Across the little path outside the front door is a pretty, private garden complete with a pergola that offers a lovely al fresco dining spot. Please note, there is an uncovered pond so take care and supervise children at all times. The gate in the garden leads to a side path that runs to the road at the bottom - there are steps at the end so may not be suitable for everyone.
Sherborne is often described as one of the prettiest towns in England and has been voted the best place to live in the South West 2024 by The Times. The town boasts beautiful medieval buildings, an 8th Century Abbey and fantastic restaurants (be sure to try the Italian style tapas at The Plume of Feathers). Sherborne has two castles, both worth visiting and the newer one has stunning grounds designed by Lancelot 'Capability Brown'. It is a short, flat walk from The Gardens into the town centre, where you will also find the train station. As well as having all of this on your doorstep, The Gardens is superbly placed to visit various areas of the South West. The Jurassic Coast is within easy driving distance - walk the coast path from West Bay to Burton Bradstock with its National Trust beach or over to Seatown and take a pit stop at the popular Anchor Inn.
Wherever your holiday adventures may take you, returning back to The Gardens at the end of each busy day is sure to be the icing on the cake.
