Escape the everyday and come and live the country life with a memorable holiday at this delightful rural idyll nestled in the beautiful Restormel Estate in the Fowey Valley. Surrounded by glorious rolling Cornish countryside and stunning parkland, spend your days simply relaxing in the peace that surrounds, dining al fresco style in the pretty garden, fishing in the River Fowey (seasonal) and discovering woodland walks that lead right from your doorstep - it really is quite magical.

If you like to start your day with a few lengths, the indoor heated pool will be a real treat at anytime of the year along with the sauna and if tennis is your game there's a tennis court where you can serve up an ace or two. The leisure facilities, which also include a children play area, are shared with other guests on the Estate. It doesn't get much better than this.

Set less than a mile from the little riverside town of Lostwithiel, which offers up a collection of antiques shops, independent shops, pubs and cafes; you can stroll down the lane each morning to collect freshly baked croissants and pastries to set you up for the day, or for even more of a treat, take the woodland walk that leads up to The Duchy Nursery, which not only has a wonderful choice of plants and gifts but serves up some great food and drink, you are sure to become a regular visitor.

With the sheltered bays and beaches and the charming fishing towns and villages of Cornwall's gentler south coast within easy access, this little retreat really does offer the best of both worlds for your escape to our little kingdom.

Staniforth is one of six cottages, that has been sensitively converted from traditional farm buildings set around a landscaped courtyard, with mature planting for privacy. Perfect for couples and small families the interiors are warm and inviting where antique finds, gorgeous soft furnishings and individual pieces have been thoughtfully paired with modern day luxuries, creating a delightful retreat whatever the time of year. On warmer days, your private garden area, set within the courtyard is a relaxing spot to while away a sunny afternoon, whilst in cooler months the toasty wood-burner and cosy rooms offer a warm escape from the elements.

Enjoy sociable holidays, spending much needed time together in the open plan living-room whether cooking up your holiday feasts, indulging in your delights around the table or simply relaxing in the lounge area. There's a nod to your Cornish setting with the delightful Cornish Choughs on the tiles in the family bathroom which sits between the two bedrooms, both given the same exceptional level of detail in the overall styling and presentation, to assure you have a good night's sleep.

If you can dare to drag yourself away from your holiday sanctuary, there are so many delights and wonderful days out to discover in the area. The creek side village of Lerryn is a short drive away. Said to be the inspiration of Kenneth Graham's 'The Wind in the Willows' here you can take the wooded walk along the river which eventually leads to the trendy sailing town of Fowey, another must when in this part of Cornwall.

A visit to the mighty biomes of the Eden Project or to The Lost Gardens of Heligan will delight horticulturists and there are more gardens and parkland to discover at Lanhydrock (National Trust) along with the historic house and a network of woodland trails for the cyclists amongst you.

There are further trails to be discovered on foot or two wheels in Cardinham Woods finished off with a tasty treat from the little woodland cafe.

If you fancy a day at the seaside, you can join the wild swimmers at Menabilly and try water sports at Polkerris but if you would prefer to simply laze away on the beach this stretch of coastline is littered with a choice of great beaches you could try a different one every day!
