TwinSet in the heart of the Duchy of Cornwall's Arrallas Estate, with uninterrupted views of the surrounding farmland and with a wealth of countryside and woodland trails to explore, Trendeal Barn is an idyllic countryside getaway for those seeking an utterly peaceful break.
Tucked away at the end of a private lane, close to the little village of Ladock, this is a great base for discovering the beaches, towns and villages of both the north and south coast along with the best of Cornwall's gardens. Converted from its humble agricultural past, Trendeal Barn is an exquisite and exceptional homestay, where you are invited to revel in the comfort and warmth that awaits. The open plan living-room sets the scene for a sociable holiday and the shaker-style kitchen will delight the designated chef. The relaxed seating is the perfect place to unwind after an adventure-filled day or for whiling away a lazy winter afternoon watching a good film cosied up in front of the wood-burner.
The vaulted ceilings and exposed beams add a sense of charm and grandeur to the romantic bedrooms, all individually styled with one-off pieces and individual items that perfectly complement this countryside home. Both young and old, along with your pampered pooch, will love the garden and time to enjoy the great outdoors. Start the day with a morning coffee on the terrace debating what you will cook up on the barbecue later that day and spend lazy afternoons immersed in a good book and the peace and tranquility that surrounds.
Pop into the local village of Ladock where you can pick up those essential provisions from the community shop and where the village pub serves up a good helping of Cornish hospitality.
The gorgeous Roseland peninsula is easily accessible and is renowned for its glorious sandy beaches and pretty seaside villages. Take a boat trip from St Mawes to Falmouth or hire a kayak and explore the hidden creeks of the Fal estuary.
The well-known Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick Beach serves delicious outdoor cooked food and has regular ticketed feast nights during the year (booking is strongly advised). Nearby is the Driftwood Hotel with its celebrated restaurant, and the Nare Hotel at Carne and the Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes both have excellent waterside dining for that special night out.
Garden enthusiasts will delight at the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Trelissick and Caerhays and the cathedral city of Truro is within easy reach with a good selection of shops, galleries, a theatre and the Royal Cornwall Museum.
