Zip and linkKeepers Cottage is the former gamekeeper's cottage for Montacute House and is set in the rolling countryside of south Somerset, close to the historic village of Montacute. Stunning walks from the door and places to explore - what more could you wish for?
This traditional cottage has a lovely living area, with views from most of the rooms across the fields. The kitchen is well-equipped and is the ideal room to create family meals to share. From the kitchen is the large dining-room, where your eyes will be drawn to the view from the window. You have two comfortable seating areas to pick from - the sitting-room, with open fire and the snug, which is a great space to retreat to after a busy day.
The well-established grounds are a haven for wildlife - look out for foxes and deer, as well as the owl at the bottom of the garden. A delightful addition to the outside space, is the field and wooded area - enjoy a game of cricket or a game of hide and seek in the copse.
Keepers Cottage is close to Montacute, where you can visit the National Trust Property, Montacute House. Only four miles away is the busy town of Yeovil with lots of shops and amenities.
Somerset is blessed with many miles of walking routes to explore - from the cottage you can get direct access into Ham Hill Country Park. Ham Hill itself is a large Iron Age fort with spectacular views over the Somerset levels and the scource of the golden Hamstone used to build the local villages. Within easy distance you can explore the Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes Motor Museum or travel over the border to Dorset and visit the beaches at Lyme Regis.
Keepers Cottage is well placed for all the family to find some fun on holiday.

We would ask that you don't obstruct the garage, as the gardener requires access to the ride on lawnmower within. The location of the cottage means that in the winter months the garden paths may become slippery from wet leaves. The paths are also uneven in places, so please take care. Please note the open fire in the sitting-room is for your use but the fireplace in the dining-room is ornamental only. *A cot is not provided, bring your own travel cot.
