Welcome to Sheldonia, a hidden gem in the delightful seaside town of Ventnor and within touching distance of Steephill Cove - one of the Island's prettiest beaches, featured in The Times' Top 20 Beach Resorts.

Tucked away quietly at the foot of the Ventnor Undercliff, sits this most beautiful house, carefully and sympathetically renovated by its owners, with a nod to the stunning coastal surroundings. The property is located at the top of an unadopted, private lane and has a parking area for two cars. The secluded tiered garden areas provide flexible options for relaxed dining, entertaining or simply enjoying the luxury of being in the heart of this wonderful, sought-after location.

The front door opens directly into the kitchen/diner. Here, a charming dining-area can be found along with a compact but perfectly-formed kitchen, which has all the equipment you'll need to rustle up a holiday meal. There's even a dishwasher, so no squabbling over the washing-up here! The sitting-area is beautifully arranged with chic nautical touches and leads to a wooden balcony, with spectacular panoramic sea views over the picturesque Ventnor Cricket Ground and Botanical Gardens.

Bedrooms two and three sit at the rear of the ground floor, a twin room and a pretty king-size bedroom. A handy wet-room completes the ground floor.

Should your party require, there's a lovely double room (bedroom one) at lower ground floor level, accessed by patio doors, which provides a self-contained area with en suite shower-room. The perfect retreat for those guests who would prefer a little more privacy away from the main living areas and other guests - ideal for holidaying couples, the grandparents or teenagers wanting their own space! Please note, access to this bedroom is via external steps only.

You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to al fresco dining at Sheldonia. At the rear of the property you will find a pretty, elevated decked terrace. This area makes a lovely addition to the tiered patio at the front but please note, due to the geology of the rear gardens, a handrail is not possible so extra care should be taken on the steps leading up to the decking.

Whether you plan to spend your time simply enjoying the pretty surroundings or heading out to explore the many delights of the Island, a holiday at Sheldonia will be one to make many happy memories.

The Isle of Wight is a fabulous place for a holiday, with miles of stunning coastline, watersports galore and pretty villages. There really is something for everyone here and from the moment you step onto the ferry over the Solent, your adventure will begin.

Ventnor sits on the southeast of the Isle of Wight, ideally placed for exploring the many delights the island has to offer. Sheldonia is located on the outskirts of town and you can stroll into the centre to find numerous places to eat and some eclectic shops. The seafront is a lovely traditional spot where you can hire a deckchair and relax with an ice cream on the beach. Close by, the renowned Ventnor Botanic Gardens are worth exploring for their flora and fauna or perhaps walk down the lane to Steephill Cove, a picturesque beach surrounded by pretty cottages where you can treat yourself to a crab pasty. For the ultimate treat, try The Royal Hotel for afternoon tea, the perfect holiday pastime.

If you decide to head out further afield, then a visit to the iconic Needles should be on your "to do" list. Take the chairlift down to the beach below (there are steps if you'd prefer) and pick up the boat for a close-up view or maybe just enjoy the dramatic scenery and multi-coloured sand cliffs from the shore. Osborne House in Cowes was once the home of Queen Victoria, now managed by English Heritage this is a great place to spend the day exploring the house, extensive grounds and even the private beach. However you plan to spend your blissful holiday days, Sheldonia is an ideal base for your island adventures.
