Zip and linkThe much sought-after village of St Agnes is a magical place for a Cornish holiday and Jubilee House is an elegant double fronted, terraced, Victorian home, just a short stroll away from the very beautiful beach of Trevaunance Cove with numerous cafes, restaurants and delis close by.
Jubilee House is a gorgeous holiday home where, thanks to the creative talents of the owners, contemporary furnishings marry seamlessly with beautifully restored features. A getaway here will be a delight for you, your extended family or perhaps a group of friends looking for the ultimate coastal idyll.
Step over the threshold and you will be wowed by the stunning interiors, sympathetically refurbished. The ground floor kitchen/diner is beautifully furnished with dove grey units and white Mediterranean walls. The Belfast sink has a lovely view overlooking the terraced gardens which may be a little distracting for the chef! Fully equipped with a double oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, there will be no squabbling over the washing up here. It is said the kitchen is the heart of the home, and Jubilee House is no exception. Everyone can meet around the farmhouse kitchen table and chat about the day's adventures, the perfect sociable gathering! A fabulous window seat completes the kitchen/diner where you can sit and watch the world go by, or perhaps enjoy catching up on holiday reading.
Enter the sitting-room and an oasis of calm and tranquillity awaits. Exposed pine floors and comfy cream sofas invite you to relax and unwind and in cooler months the wood-burner will keep you toasty. This charming room has a feature bay window and classic high ceilings, the perfect place to unwind after a busy beach day.
Climb the stairs to the first floor where three bedrooms await, all with luxury linens for a great night's sleep. Bedroom one has a super-king bed and a lovely outlook over the gardens. Bedroom two has a convenient 'zip and link' bed so you can choose between two singles or a king-size double and bedroom three also has a 'zip and link' bed giving you great flexibility. The family bathroom can be found on this floor with gorgeous back to wall bath and there is also a shower-room with jazzy tiles and rainfall shower, perfect for rinsing those salty toes.
Up another flight of stairs to the second floor (don't miss the beautiful stained glass arched window) and you will find bedrooms four and five. Bedroom four has a magical antique brass bedstead and king-size bed with Velux windows adding light. Bedroom five has a super-king size bed and the added benefit of being 'zip and link' so this room can be made up as twins if preferred. Another feature of this floor is the luxurious large shower-room, it really is quite special.
Outside continues to delight with a beautiful, landscaped garden and decked patio area to the rear. Al fresco dining comes into its own here, from your first cup of early morning coffee to an aperitif under the stars. The lawned area at the top of the garden is perfect for the family dogs to wander as it is totally enclosed. Whether you are looking for an out-of-season Cornish getaway or a family beach holiday in the summer sun, Jubilee House is a unique abode where holiday memories to last a lifetime will be made.
Cornwall is a land of myths and legends, breath-taking scenery and dramatic coastline. The north Cornwall coast has all the ingredients needed for a great holiday with secret coves, sandy surfing beaches, quaint fishing villages and historic landmarks all in abundance. St Agnes is renowned as a surfing mecca and the beach at Trevaunance Cove is perfect for catching Atlantic rollers. The centre of the village has a good selection of eateries, cafes and restaurants so it would be easy to holiday here and never get the car out! If you do decide to travel further afield, more delights are just around the coast. Why not head to Port Isaac, home of Doc Martin and sea shanty singers Fishermen's Friends, or perhaps travel inland towards the mighty biomes of the Eden Project or The Lost Gardens of Heligan, lost in time during WWI and restored to their former glory 30 years ago. Foodies should head for Padstow, home of Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth and Nathan Outlaw, all respected chefs bringing their skills to this beautiful part of the world. If you fancy a home-cooked meal look out for the many farm shops and roadside stalls where you can buy the freshest of produce to create a holiday feast. However you plan to spend your blissful holiday time just remember one important rule, jam before cream on your scone in Cornwall!
