If you were looking for cottages like Pheasant Rise, how about trying these:

Gather family and friends to enjoy a special break at Pheasant Rise, an immaculate countryside retreat with gorgeous welcoming interiors, open plan living and it's dog-friendly too. Tucked away down a country lane, on the edge of the beautiful Lanhydrock Estate and minutes from the River Fowey at Respryn, there are miles of rural footpaths, woodland walks and riverside rambles to discover, so don't forget to pack your walking boots, yet with such easy access to the sheltered beaches, clifftops walks and glorious gardens along Cornwall's south coast, it's the perfect base for exploring as well.

The owners have presented a very beautiful home in this mid-terraced barn conversion and have taken great pride in ensuring you have the most comfortable of stays. With reversed level accommodation, the spacious open plan living room on the first floor invites you to spend time together, whether cooking up those holiday meals in the country-style kitchen, discussing the delights of the day around the dining-table, or lounging on the squidgy sofas in front of the toasty wood-burner after a day out exploring.

It's down to bed at Pheasant Rise, with all three bedrooms on the ground floor. All presented in soothing hues of blue and grey - you'll be in the land of nod in no time but if you need some further help why not treat yourself to a leisurely soak in the gorgeous freestanding bath in the en suite - bubbles are optional of course!

The elevated garden is the spot to take your meals in the great outdoors, with views of the woodland and countryside that surround. Set at the back of the property, it is accessed up a set of steps and through a gate. And to watch the comings and goings of the comical pheasants who regularly make an appearance, hence the name, enjoy elevenses perched on the garden bench outside the front door also watching out for the steam train that passes along the heritage steam railway line just across the road (at most there are five trains a day in the summer months).
