Oh my what a view - it doesn't get much better than this! This utterly charming shepherd's hut enjoys a plum location in the beautiful historic Mount Edgcumbe Country Park with views that stretch out across country meadows, over the river and out to sea, with the maritime city of Plymouth beyond and glimpses of Dartmoor in the distance; you will be mesmerised from the minute you arrive.

Immerse yourself in the best of country living and all that this wonderful location has to offer - there's over 800 acres of it. You could start with walking the alpacas or perhaps visiting the historic house and Grade I listed gardens. Explore the network of walking trails that traverse across the park or for a bit more fun, hire a Segway to get around. Paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing will keep water enthusiasts entertained and when you need to refuel The Little Cafe in the Stables and The Orangery restaurant serve up some great treats.

Crafted in a timeless tradition that complements its gorgeous rural surroundings and historic setting, the wonderful exterior houses a cosy interior, cleverly designed for up to four people to experience the delights of what can only be described as a picture-perfect paradise. Younger members of the party will adore the bunk-beds and will want to be the first to 'bagsy the top bunk' whilst toasty hot water bottles will keep them cosy under the covers whichever bunk they choose! For older members the comfy fold-down bed will ensure you have wonderful night's sleep and in the morning fold it away to reveal the dining-area complete with bench seating for all to enjoy family meals together or a holiday game or two. The fabulous Dutch doors open up to make the most of that view and the adorable wood-burner ensures the hut stays super cosy on cooler evenings. Time for tea and the little quirky kitchen-area sits at the back of the hut complete with two ring hob and grill for those morning fry-ups. A cool box is provided to keep your food chilled and pop over to the office to top up your ice packs. The shared shower and toilet block is just a short stroll away from the hut adding to the adventure.

Sharing this idyllic site is its sister hut Lynher Hut (4755), ideal if you have friends who want to holiday with you, but also set away from the other and screened for added privacy.

There is so much to keep you amused in the park but if you wanted to venture further afield this wonderful corner of Cornwall is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and it won't take you long to understand why.

The best way to discover it is on foot, so pop on those walking boots and head out to discover miles of coastal and countryside walks. The twinned villages of Kingsand and Cawsand are so appealing and the large stretch of sandy beach along Whitsand Bay is glorious. For some maritime history, hop on the foot ferry from Cremyll that takes you across the water to Plymouth, where you can retrace the steps of the Pilgrim fathers in the Barbican or Sir Francis Drake's famous games of bowls on Plymouth Hoe. For something a little more up-to-date the city's latest hotspot The Royal William Yard has a great choice of places to eat and drink along with a calendar of events throughout the year.
