Perfectly situated halfway up a private sloping lane, yet in the heart of the pretty village of Yealmpton in the glorious South Hams, this delightful cottage has been beautifully refurbished throughout whilst still retaining its charm and character. Yealmpton offers the best of traditional village life, from the local shop to the many inns, you will never be short of places to dine. Footpaths criss-cross around the village and beautiful countryside of the Yealm Valley so you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to local walks. This cottage will make you and your dog feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

Step over the threshold and you will find the gorgeous kitchen, tastefully furnished with beamed ceilings and pretty ornaments. The fabulous dual fuel range gives you the opportunity to cook up a feast whilst chatting to your fellow guests as they gather around the lovely kitchen table. The sitting-room is a delightfully cosy hideaway with a comfy sofa and a cute love seat, perfect for relaxing at the end of a busy day. On cooler evenings light the wood-burner, make a hot chocolate and snuggle up. Bliss! The shower-room and handy utility-room are just off the kitchen, accessed via four steps.

On the first floor are the two picture-perfect bedrooms. The pretty main bedroom is decorated in soothing pastel shades and has a sumptuous king-size bed with a handy en suite WC. The second bedroom is a lovely, light, double room and is a blissful place to relax with a good book, but only if you can tear yourself away from the scenic views out across the village.

The icing on the cake here must surely be the fabulous cottage garden. Well stocked with flowers and shrubs it is the perfect tranquil place to soak up the sunshine with your morning coffee and plan your next walk from the garden gate. At the end of the day the seating area becomes the ideal place to spend balmy summer evenings whilst cooking up a storm on the barbecue. There is a handy storeroom for your bikes and parking nearby at the end of the lane. So plan your day of adventure, enjoy all the sights that south Devon has to offer and return to Chou Cottage, here's to the perfect holiday!

Being in a lovely village setting the parking for the cottage can be found on the main village road at the bottom of the private lane or slightly further away by the shops and café additional free parking can be found. Devon being Devon you will have to head back up to the cottage although you will be sat in the garden within minutes!

The idyllic riverside villages of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are considered to be two of the most attractive, unspoilt villages in south Devon, and they are just a few miles away. Sitting on opposite banks of the river Yealm you really do experience a slower pace of life here, and of course what better way to enjoy village life than sampling a gin at one of the renowned local pubs!

When it comes to beaches you really are spoilt for choice. With both Mothecombe and Bigbury-on-Sea not far away, family beach days are sorted. Alternatively discover the joy of walking mile upon mile of coastal paths which link all the many beaches and hidden coves together.

Chou Cottage is just ten miles away from the Maritime City of Plymouth with its bustling Barbican area, packed with fabulous waterside eateries, and the fascinating National Marine Aquarium.
