Wreath Farm is in a rural setting overlooking open countryside, just 10 miles inland from the beach at Lyme Regis and the stunning Jurassic Coast.

The farmstead now has a new life and Wreath Farmhouse has been beautifully renovated and is presented in an easy living contemporary style. A really large kitchen with a central island, dining table and beautiful flagstone floor welcomes you to the heart of the house. There is an adjoining garden-room - which makes the perfect dining-room - and which overlooks the enclosed gardens. A tranquil sitting-room and a separate snug each have a wood-burner and internet connected Smart TVs making this house a great choice for family and friends, whatever the time of year.

Two staircases lead upstairs where there is the added luxury of four en suite, double bedrooms. There are two 'master' bedrooms with super-king sized beds. The first has an en suite bathroom with a fitted shower over the bath and the second has an en suite shower-room. A further double room also has an en suite shower (there is a step up to the shower). The final bedroom, which has 'zip and link' beds, can be presented with twin beds or a super-king bed. This room has an en suite shower and can be accessed from the main landing or via the second stairs, sharing a link through walk-in wardrobe with the first master bedroom and making it a flexible option for families with children.

There is an untouched private wildlife area in the meadow below the garden where you will see all manner of wildlife, including resident barn owls. Make the most of the binoculars and notebooks that are provided to identify and record what you see from the garden. The Chard Nature Reserve is less than half a mile away and you are also on the doorstep of the Blackdown Hills National Landscape, which runs along the Devon/Somerset border and provides a beautiful backdrop to the garden. Add fossil hunting at Charmouth beach to the list of activities and all the family will have a holiday to remember.

Whilst Wreath Farmhouse is totally separate and private, it is possible to integrate this lovely accommodation with two other properties on site The Apple Press (4744) and The Cowshed (4743). If booked together, these properties (all part of Wreath Farm) sleep 18 + 3 cots. The owners live in another barn conversion on site and are on hand if you need them but all of the properties have a good degree of privacy from each other.

South Somerset is a very gentle county with small market towns, pretty villages and many historic houses to visit. Close to both the east Devon and west Dorset borders, Wreath Farm is an excellent base for a wide range of outings without having too far to drive.

There are local amenities in Chard just down the road and on the far side of the town is Barleymow's Farm Shop - the cafe does a great cooked breakfast and there is a children's playing area and each summer a maize maze to explore.

Axminster, Ilminster and Crewkerne have weekly, local produce markets and Honiton is a paradise for browsing in antiques shops.

Following the coast to the west, through east Devon from Lyme Regis, you will enjoy a chain of little fishing villages and seaside towns, from Beer and Branscombe to Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton. Each has its own delightful character and tradition.

Within easy reach of Chard are four south Somerset National Trust properties to visit - Montacute, Tintinhull, Lytes Cary and Barrington Court. Forde Abbey is also only a few minutes away over the border in Dorset and offers a beautiful setting on the River Axe and some stunning gardens. Many famous walking trails converge around the villages to the south of Wreath, including the Jubilee Trail, Monarch's Way, the Wessex Ridgeway, the Liberty Trail and the South West Coast Path.

There is truly something for everyone in this area but we wonder if you might decide to just stay put at Wreath Farmhouse!
