DoubleSet in the charming harbourside village of Boscastle in an idyllic and tranquil setting, with wonderful views over the Jordan Valley, Kinsman Cottage (formerly The Garden Place) is the ideal retreat to take time out, recharge those batteries and enjoy a relaxing coastal break in north Cornwall. Soak up the tranquil and idyllic setting in the sunny garden and if you want to embrace all the delights of the village it's a mere 10 minute stroll down the hill.
All on one level, Kinsman Cottage sits below the home of the friendly and welcoming owners – they are on hand to offer you help and advice but will then very much leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace. And what a holiday it will be!
There are miles of coastal and countryside walks that will be a real treat for ramblers, wildlife enthusiasts and your four-legged friends. Enjoy a beachside picnic and dip your toes in the water at Trebarwith Strand and Crackington Haven, or if you are feeling a little more energetic you might even ride the waves. The nearby village of Tintagel is steeped in the myths and legends of King Arthur and the pretty fishing village of Port Isaac has many claims to fame, with not one but two Nathan Outlaw restaurants, home of the 'Fisherman's Friends' as well as TV's Doc Martin.
Take the steps that lead from your own private parking space (a real treat for Boscastle) and you arrive in the beautiful cottage garden – turn around, take in the view and relax, you've arrived. Further steps lead up to the front door, the elevated position really taking full advantage of the view.
Kinsman Cottage is beautifully presented and offers plenty of space to spread out. The comfy sitting-room has that all important wood-burner (and Cornish slate floor), perfect for cooler evenings and winter breaks; the south-facing sun-room, a lovely spot to enjoy a holiday read, leads out to the terrace and your own private area of the garden. The kitchen/breakfast-room is light and airy with a large picture window that perfectly frames the view and you can enjoy more of that view from the bedroom. Completing the accommodation is the bathroom that leads off from the kitchen/breakfast-room.
Boscastle itself is utterly charming with its tiny harbour, clusters of traditional cottage and historic buildings and range of galleries, gift shops, and arts and craft shops – you might even see a pot being thrown. And if you can't face the kitchen – well why would you, you're on holiday – the village has a great choice of places to eat and drink.
