Nestled in a tranquil valley, Cider Barn has beautiful views across the hamlet of Harpford. This is a haven for walkers with footpaths to the River Otter and access to the East Devon Way, all within east Devon's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with a stretch of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. All on one level this brand new barn design, next door to the owners' home, is ideal for two couples or a small family.

This compact bolthole has cosy under-floor heating throughout and an open plan kitchen, dining and living area that looks out over the valley. Two bedrooms each have an en suite shower-room and super-comfy six foot beds, which can also be made up as two three-foot twin beds. Surrounded by decking at the front and facing south, you can watch the sun rise through French doors in the main bedroom, then venture out with a morning cuppa. The enclosed garden is ideal for children and there is secure storage for bicycles or golf clubs.

If you fancy a break from the car, there are wonderful walks from your doorstep, the paper shop and general store in nearby Newton Poppleford is a ten minute walk through footpaths and over the River Otter. If you are feeling energetic you can follow the river south to the charming mill village of Otterton and then beyond to the coast at Budleigh Salterton. There are also two good pubs each a mile in opposite directions, both a very pleasant walk.

You are surrounded by rolling green farmland bordered by the stunning Jurassic Coast; nearby Regency Sidmouth has magnificent red cliffs, an array of tea shops, restaurants, pubs and independent shops. Nearby the River Exe has a bicycle trail all around the estuary, you can even stop off for a boat trip along the way. If you love golf, there are three great courses nearby.

The ancient city of Exeter is a short drive, dating back to Roman times; with its Gothic Cathedral, underground passages, gardens and good shopping, it has something for everyone. The coastal villages of Branscombe and Beer are delightful and you can pick up the catch of the day at the fish shop on Beer's beach. Just over the border into Dorset, Lyme Regis is well worth a visit, you can visit the dinosaur museum, hunt for fossils on Monmouth beach, or simply relax and watch the world go by. At the end of the day your peaceful hamlet welcomes you home.
