Stunning can be an over-used term but Ida Cottage really lives up to the description. Under-floor heating throughout, toasty slate-flooring downstairs and oak-flooring upstairs, the sitting/dining-room has a wood-burner and attractive furnishings, grey with flashes of burnt orange. There is an up-to-the-minute kitchen and three beautiful en suite bedrooms; crisp white linen and soft-hued throws, each an oasis of calm – just the sound of birdsong and the burble of the river.

All this and much more, the outside area (shared with neighbouring Lena Cottage (3292) and Giles Cottage (3856)) is not only beautiful, it is fully equipped to entertain the whole family. With a fabulous trampoline, a pair of goal posts placed sensibly in oodles of space, to a delightful picnic bench to enjoy a touch of al fresco dining on. There is even a separate games area offering table-tennis and table-football; this is open to all guests but will of course be loved most by the children whilst the adults sit around the fire and enjoy meeting new friends! There is something to entertain the whole family right on your doorstep.

In the same family for 150 years, Grade II Listed Wringworthy Farm, mentioned in the Domesday Book, is set in a gorgeous spot in Dartmoor National Park.

Dating back to the early 1500s, it was once the home of Sir Francis Drake's great niece, Elizabeth Drake, who lived there in the 17th Century with her husband, the local squire William Cake.

Set in 75 acres of farmland with sheep grazing, Ida Cottage, Lena Cottage and Giles Cottage are all beautiful cottages named after family members. There are some splendid walks along the River Burn which borders one side of a large meadow and even a secret pool where you can paddle on summer days (do take care with children by the water).
