Cowries is a cosy ground floor apartment sleeping two with fabulous uninterrupted views of Gerrans Bay and the pretty seaside village of Portscatho. Situated directly above the harbour and virtually at the end of the Lugger – a row of predominantly traditional stone-built fishermen’s cottages – the apartment is one of a small number set back from a no-through road, which has very little passing traffic.

The village centre with a general store, pub, cafe and galleries is a short level stroll away, and the harbour and beach are likewise immediately to hand.

The apartment (with its own designated parking space) is approached by a short flight of steps from the private parking-area to the front of the property. There is access at the rear to a small secluded gravelled-area; this is a useful space to store kayaks, bikes, etc.

Portscatho is a gorgeous harbourside village full of Cornish charm. Take a walk along the coast path to the Hidden Hut where guests sit side by on wooden benches to enjoy the freshest of local produce (booking is essential on feast nights), afterwards wander down to the picturesque Porthcurnick beach, one of the many beaches to enjoy along the Roseland coast.

A short drive away is the village of St Mawes, offering a selection of eateries, from fine dining to fish and chips that can be enjoyed on the seawall, either way dining with a view is certainly on offer. If you fancy hitting the water, why not hire a kayak from the harbourside and explore the many sheltered coves or take the passenger ferry over to the maritime town of Falmouth with its vibrant shops and interesting maritime museum. Slightly further afield is the iconic Eden Project with its mighty biomes makes for an exciting day out at any time of year.

However you wish to spend your holiday, Cowries is the perfect location for a Cornish adventure.
