With south coast beaches and sailing waters just a short jaunt in one direction and the magnificent cliffs and surfing beaches of the north coast in the other, what could be better than this tucked-away (but not too tucked-away!) rural location betwixt Falmouth and Truro?
Juniper is an oak, hand-built hut lovingly produced by the wonderful Blackdown Shepherd Huts. Fully equipped with a super-comfy pull-down bed (which fits above the dining-area during the day), a two-ring hob, microwave, an integrated fridge and a dear little wood-burner for the cosiest of cosy times (all logs supplied). The decor is tones of creams and greens, calming and restful and perfectly in-keeping with the orchard setting. No traipsing across damp grass for morning ablutions here, this idyllic retreat has its own en suite shower-room with shower cubicle, WC and wash-basin, plus a wall-mounted heater, soft fluffy towels and bath mats too (and even extra towels for use at the pool!).
Juniper is nestled within the grounds of The Emerald, an award-winning zero carbon eco development, set in five acres of grounds sheltered by trees and hedging (so plenty of birdsong and the occasional glimpse of deer and squirrels). There is also a useful Tesla charging point for electric cars at The Emerald (please bring your own adaptor for other makes). The owners politely ask that you state on arrival if you plan to take advantage of this service and to pay them via cash or bank transfer before departure. There is a big indoor heated swimming pool (shared with the five hi-spec, super-insulated on-site cedar-clad holiday houses - Coast, Drift, Cedar, Fern, Willow, and The Gatehouse, a more traditional holiday cottage), with a gym and tennis court (all-level coaching is available from an experienced national level player/coach, please book/pay on-site on arrival) and an ornamental lake to wander around for those wishing to just chill out and relax. In addition, there is a dreamy new spa room offering CACI treatments which work to plump and tone the skin, as well as a bespoke massage service, both can be booked in advance of your stay. Please note, you can book a 1.5 hour session per day at the swimmimg pool, the system is explained in the property.
Located within the orchard, Juniper's nearest neighbour is the second shepherd's hut, Jasmine, but both have their own private outdoor areas and do not overlook each other. There is space for sitting-out and you even have a barbecue if you get the urge to sizzle some locally-sourced meat or fresh-from-the-sea fish.
