Zip and linkOn the edge of Exmoor's stunning National Park - a designated International Dark Sky Reserve - Dieppy Farm Cottage is in the perfect spot for stargazing; on a cloudless night you will be amazed at the number of stars above. An enchanting bolthole in the peaceful village of Skilgate.
This most welcoming single-storey cottage has a huge garden with valley views and a stream tumbling along the boundary - the owners' pond is the other side, with delightful resident ducks.
French windows open onto the south-facing decking above the stream and in the evening from the deck, you can enjoy the setting sun to the west or from the rather romantic swing seat in the garden.
Inside, the open plan layout gives this attached cottage a spacious and homely feel at the same time. A garden path and short flight of steps lead from the parking-area to the cottage. The owners live next door but the cottage faces the opposite direction, so you will feel completely private with your own access and parking.
This is a wonderful place to bring your four-legged friends. They are very welcome and as well as the large garden, there are many walks nearby and of course you can venture up onto the wild open spaces of Exmoor too. Why not also bring a bike, (safe storage can be provided by the owner) - road and off road routes are aplenty.
The pretty little market town of Dulverton is about four miles away - a great place to buy all your provisions and to enjoy a coffee or a meal out in one of the independent pubs, cafes or restaurants. Bampton is just a short drive away - with its traditional butcher and baker and a couple of galleries for those holiday treats.
Also nearby is Wimbleball Lake, where you can walk along the shores, watch the activities of the sailing school and perhaps try your hand too. Overlooking the lake is Exmoor National Park's Haddon Hill, for stunning walks with panoramic views. The majestic coastline is not far; enjoy a day at the beach or a stroll along the coast path.
This cottage is perfectly placed for a walking holiday, whether gentle or challenging; two small dogs are welcome here and they will certainly enjoy all the outside space that is on offer. For greater flexibility, guests have the option for the bedroom to be set up as a king-size double or twin beds (2'6").

Take care, there's a step down into the kitchen/living area from the entrance hall. Babies up to the age of eight months only are accepted at this property. As space is limited, it would be wise to bring a carry cot or Moses basket rather than a travel cot. Take care around the stream, as part of it is unfenced. *A cot is not provided, bring your own travel cot.
