Set in tranquil countryside, Carzantic Chapel Barn is a charming granite cottage dating back to the 1800s, its south-facing patio basks in sun most of the day and is the perfect spot to soak up the glorious views, spot birds and local wildlife, and stargaze to your hearts content at night.

The delightful kitchen greets you as you enter and the comfortable sitting/dining-room, with its beautiful wooden floor and toasty wood-burner, makes this an ideal retreat all year round. Upstairs are two pretty bedrooms and a shiny bright shower-room. The rear windows have lovely views down into Cornwall, and there are some great walks close by; the Tamar Valley Discovery Trail runs past the door, and dramatic Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor are within easy reach.

For all that extra paraphernalia you bring on holiday, the owners offer a lock-up store for bikes and surfboards and, for those of you with young babies, a baby bath is provided.

Close to the little town of Launceston with its independent shops and English Heritage Castle, the barn is within easy driving distance of both the north and south coast, so why not opt for a beach day or don your walking boots and explore part of the South West Coast Path? The dogs will love it and so will you, whatever the weather.

The barn is also ideally situated for exploring all the attractions of Cornwall – a day out in St Ives, a fish supper in Padstow, buying your own fish from the beach at Port Isaac, the list is endless. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also well worth a visit, along with the Eden Project and the wonderful National Trust houses, and gardens of Cotehele, Trerice and Lanhydrock.
