In days gone by this was the village forge in the Dartmoor village of Buckland Monachorum, now little trace of its history remains and it is a delightful escape for two. Adjoining the Owners’ home, this is a lovely property featuring a light and airy living-room with exposed beams and a stone fireplace, a galley-style kitchen, a ground floor bathroom (take care with one or two steps) and upstairs a galleried double bedroom with pretty bed linens and exposed beams. Guests are welcome to find a sunny spot in the Owners’ extensive gardens and use their garden furniture. There is a welcoming pub across the road and the attractive town of Tavistock is just a short drive away. A perfect retreat for recharging the batteries or enjoying bracing walks on Dartmoor. The Lodge at Bedford Cottage (2708) is also found in the grounds.
