The lush valley at Lamorna was once home to many renowned artists – collectively known as ‘The Lamorna Society’. They referred to the area as a paradise, and you too can have a taste of paradise in this beautiful granite semi-detached cottage; set into the cliffside of Lamorna, on the edge of the cove, there are wonderful views across Lamorna to the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The garden slopes up to the front door and the slate-floored entrance hall leads past the two carpeted double bedrooms, and a flight of four steps leads up to the well-equipped kitchen on the left, which has granite worktops and an electric Aga; on the right-hand side of the steps is the modern bathroom. A further five steps take you up to the spacious and comfortable sitting/dining-room, home to the roaring wood-burner and two large cosy sofas. The walk from the cottage’s garage to the bottom of the large garden, is a mere 200 yards along the South West Coast Path making Quarry Cottage the ideal holiday retreat for walkers and their dog looking for adventure, as well as guests looking for peace and quiet in this tranquil setting by the sea.
